I saw that and nearly posted it here. I’d take Neto over Turbo any day of the week but those stats show the lack of end product by Neto.
why would it improve for us? im glad we didnt spend on the crock we don’t have the best of injuries to our players anyway
What makes me think it’s Ange is because it’s not a one off tactic it seems like the main tactic by Vicario…got away with it by the skin of his teeth many a time last season. I can see that it’s a risky tactic so why can’t Ange iron it out? because he is the one that wants us to play that way every game maybe
On the other hand Ange trusts Dragusin to ping them long, so the obvious question is whether Vicario has a similar issue to Lloris in distributing the ball longer than 15-20 yards ...that being said, our midfield isn't the best aerially at the moment, and that might also play into preferring to keep the ball on the deck
Last summer gave the impression of being quick fire because we brought in Vicario early, took advantage of Leicester needing to sell Maddison before the end of June for FFP, and had Udogie and Sarr join the group after returning from loan. We then did absolutely nothing for a month and a half until Micky signed, five days before the season started. And then Brennan joined on deadline day. So the only real 'early doors' success worth noting is Vicario imo. There's still plenty of time to get more deals done but it's pretty clear we're waiting to shift a few more out before bringing anyone in. Ally Gold all but confirmed this the other day when he said that the priority this window was to clear the deadwood once and for all, and so far we're doing pretty well on that front.
Sarr was already at the club the season before that, Conte just barely used him despite an excellent showing at the San Siro in a rare start. We had Solomon though as well as Vicario, Maddison and the returning Udogie for all of pre-season. So three new players who were tipped to be starters and a squad player, then van de Ven as you've mentioned a few days before the season opener. This summer we had just the returning Bergvall plus Gray for pre-season, two highly talented young players but neither expected to slot into the XI just yet, the Swede has definitely given Ange something to think about though. We're currently heading into the season with the same XI bar Solanke so it's not really aligning with what Ange said about both getting stuff done early and then also looking to be challenging for titles if we're basically just marginally stronger than the side that finished 5th last season and crashed out of both cups early.
You are getting close to the mark on personal attacks RDBD. Please attack the argument not the poster.
He won't stop making those wagers, and now he appears to have infected DierHard. Short of cutting his fingers off, what can one do ??
It's not up to us what he choses to do but it is up to us all to keep interactions polite. We don't want your opinions on posters we want them mostly on football.
Brentford have added Carvalho and Napoli are apparently close to reuniting Conte with Lukaku. I would assume this means Toney and Osimhen will be on the move soon. Chelsea seem favourites to sign the latter, taking their senior squad to a nice round 1,000 players. I've still got a funny feeling we'll see a Levy Classic on deadline day and try to sign Toney for £10 and a fake shirt from DHGate.
Good for all parties, I think. His positive attitude and willingness to play wherever he was asked were admirable. Always has a smile on his face and did everything he could to improve, but he just didn't fit the system. Hope he kills it in Italy.
