No offence to Plymouth but they've no chance of a top half finish so what's needed is a plodding capable manager who's used to average/poor players and how to get them to work hard in a system ... ... the last thing you need is someone who thinks their 'charisma' and ex-PL experience counts for anything. I thought his appointment was a big mistake by their owner, today probably makes him think the same.
Wonder what Sensiblegreenie makes of today and their new manager? He always talks sense when he visits our board.
I have just read their history on Wikipedia, its a good read, highly recommend it if you have a moment. ts certainly better than some of my recent posts
Looked canny Sheffield Wednesday. Well drilled and have some solid championship players. Plymouth Argyle were absolutely lifting. League one beckons unless they sort it out. They have a couple of players that will no doubt be if interest within the last couple of weeks. Be a tough game for us on Sunday.
I’ve not been able to verify this but Sheffield Wednesday’s xG was 4.85 which is apparently more than any side in the championship got at all last season
Luton v Burnley tomorrow night Hooefully a cracking game. Both sides should be right up there come May. Are we cheering the draw on?
2 goals for Molyneux yesterday. It’s good to see another lad who came through here forging a good career for himself… https://x.com/lukemolyneux3/status/1822713499073568879?s=46
I’m looking forward to it tbh. Both sides have struggled results wise in pre-season but that’ll mean very little come tomorrow night. Really tough game to call.
I don't think Luton will change much but I'm not convinced Scott Parker is the right man for Burnley ... ... they were a real team, under Dyche, but looked an absolute shambles last season. I think they'll start slowly and Parker will hope to get them playing his way.
Just looking at yesterdays results in the EFL Cracking start for Bromley in League Two. 2-0 away win at Harrogate
I don’t gamble generally but spotted last season that the bookmakers were slow to cotton on to our demise under Beale and Dodds so I made a fair bit betting against the lads (I know some will take some real issue with this but I saw it as compensation - would have happily seen the money wasted if it meant SAFC wininng). I’ve used those funds to place a few random bets about. The first is Sheff Weds to make the playoffs which I got good odds on. I also had Sheff Weds to win 4-0 today so have more in my pot now than I started with.
Sheff Wed were unbelievable value against us on the last day of the season. It was the most obvious away banker I’ve seen for a long time.
