for that. I don't think a deduction is on the cards short term but things are so fluid at the moment...
I'm really sorry to hear the news from your club and also possibly Bristol City..............Being from a club that has for the last 3/4 years done a good impression of a kamikaze pilot..............dropping from 10th in the Championship 2007/8..........to 24th at present in Div 2 all because of bad management and continually having to sell our best players. Administration we found was asset stripping to the extreme by the the firm doing the Administration..........A Brendan Guilfoyle was the man in question trying to sell the club to a man (Kevin Heaney) who never had the money. We kept telling him so .but he was totally blinkered to the facts. Fan Trust power saw us through after 8/9 months of administration........4/5 months longer than it should have been.............Brendan Guilfoyles fees were out of this world approx 1 million pounds........which was whittled down dramatically.............before James Brent a Devon businessman seeing the need for Plymouth a large City needing to have a Professional football club finally bought us. I know your circumstances are different than ours...........your owner opting out............but we wish you well at Argyle.........and don't let officialdom walk all over you. The Taxman is the man you need to keep happy.......he has been trying for awhile to stop a football club getting away with tax avoidence...........he will win a battle one day and it will be like a pack of cards tumbling down........and other clubs will be caught up in his net. So good luck....and Fan power is very necessary.
Talking of going away. Once, many years ago, on the road to somewhere, all the young lads (I was one too), on the coach, were discussing who had girlfriends, that liked football and would come to away matches if asked. Most thought it should be a lads day out only, no women allowed etc; but some guys were saying things like, "My girlfriend would go away" "mine too!" and the like. The oldest bloke on the coach, late fifties or so, no longer with us, sadly, listened to all this, looked at us young bucks, and just uttered the words, "I wish my missus would go away". I honestly spent the rest of that day laughing, even though we must have lost, as was the norm back then.
Took my missus to Aldershot when we were courting and stuck her up a tree. Then she came to Millwall with me and a police horse stood on her foot. After 30 odd years we're still going strong. God knows how
Took Mrs Fish to FP twice last year. She has no immediate desire to visit again - there again, with the entertainment we've been served up recently she probably has a point.
You might end up with a Sultan Sheikh. Or perhaps just a salt 'n' shake. I think Asia and Eastern Europe might be best avoided in terms of unearthing a benefactor. Anything not to draw the attentions of Interpol.
Pol Pot ist tot. No Kims allowed either. There aren't any war criminals still running around Latin America looking for somewhere to stash their wartime loot are there? Imagine if you had Mossad crawling all over Fratton Park next...
