You said we weren't seeing triangles with the keeper anymore?

Ok, are you a time traveler? I did infer that, but it was after you challenged my describing it as frantic.

But do we need a defensive midfielder? About time you got off the fence.

Sorry mate a bit confused about the time traveler comment. I challenged you saying it was frantic because we passed it around a lot, you then said we weren't passing it around a lot, so I pointed out the example I'd previously given did in fact show we had passed it around a lot yesterday.

One big difference is that the keeper doesn't stand on the ball for ages like we saw too often last season. We do now try to move it on from the keeper faster. And also that the CM'er doesn't drop deep to take the ball off the CB's. Good developments imo.
But as the game wore on we did seem to regress to sideways & backward passing (including the spell Syd mentions).
They pressed quite well and we didn't seem to cope that well, hence Walter tweaking things at half time.
I just don't think we've currently got players that are good enough. Worryingly, there's other teams that will press even better and be much more clinical than they were. On the other hand, hopefully we will be bringing in better players ourselves - we certainly need them, especially in defence and CM .... well, pretty much everywhere actually!

I did. :) Not quite sure why you've gone hostile but happy to leave it there.

Yep, we'll improve and as the players come in, things will get better I would think. I was merely pointing out that I didn't get a sense of any sort of 'frantic' pace yesterday but everyone sees the game differently!

I thought the midfield had a good energy level first half and we countered quite effectively a few times.

Why does he keep calling Omur 'homo' throughout the video? Is he a massive bigot?

To be fair it came out more like 'omo', I thought he was talking about his laundry...

Considering that was possibly the weakest starting line up of the season that wasn't too bad a performance. Too many mistakes at the back again - they won't get away with that against better teams. Having said that there is room for optimism once the cavalry arrives. Grabbing a point here and there will do for a short while but the sooner the new players arrive the better.

They had a fair bit of the ball around our area, largely due to wayward passing from our defenders, but their decision making was thankfully woeful. We had the better chances and really were unlucky to only get 1 goal whereas Pandur barely had a save to make.

Sheffield Wednesday and Plymouth playing just now. Christ almighty, there’s nothing to fear from these two.

I'd written off Plymouth the second they appointed Rooney.

If anyone needs proof of why managers get keepers to play short, Plymouth are proof in the pudding. Centre backs will always have the upper hand when keepers just go long.

Posted it last night mate. Was taught to me on my UEFA C course. Why would you put a ball upfield into a 50/50 gamble? People think it's a Pep thing, it's being taught at all levels and ensures you maintain possession.

Unfortunately some of the dummies in our crowd seem to think punting it long towards a dwarf striker is the best option we have.
