Much better than I expected bearing in mind pre season reports - Jacob would benefit from a loan season in League 1 - lacking confidence - don't get all the negativity about Macca, he did a couple of major clearances , certainly no worse than Jones - Miller looked a real handful when he came on - looking forward to our squad when we get them all together in a couple of weeks or so - - having said that, Bristol were poor and if that's most of their squad in place they will be at the bottom end of the table this season - definitely glass half full - good point in the circumstances
Yeah, a lot of blame put on him and Macca, but I'm not really sure what they are suppose to do when they get the ball from a goal kick and there's a five man press and no ball into a Mortan or Serri
First game of the season I know, but that confirmed my fears...That starting XI won't survive...We need at minimum 4 quality newbies. 4 has beens and a relegation tussle is assured.
I feel a bit sorry for Jacob. He obviously isn’t ideal at LB for us but 9/10 he literally has no one to pass to. I genuinely dont think itd be such an issue if there was movement in front of him. The gaffer still trusts him more defensively than Giles which is telling.
In all fairness Connolly would probably do well with the ball being played forward quickly with runs he makes.
There were times when it almost felt as though Giles was making it deliberately difficult for him. Surely it wasn't the case, but I guess he does have a motive, at least.
Absolute jackpot.....had stuck 50 on Bristol to win, and Betfair bloody pay out on 90 mins score! so won the money and got the point!!!!!
Just listened to post match and Tim was not happy with the amount of backwards and risk averse football. Happy days
It does, but that only because their isn't an out ball - I don't understand why we have four attacking players pinning there back four, but but they neither look to hit it long nor have a short ball to break the press - it's just a bit disjointed at the minute, new players and understanding the system more will help - but the back four and Pandor are being put in a very difficult position
Was pleased for Pandur. Should get another nod although we may throw Swiss Tony in for the cup game. Thought our midfield was anonymous for large parts of the game. Miller looked bright when he came on. Some of the players still Seem to have a hangover from Roseniors safety first drilling.
You could see/tell the back 4 were all here under LR... It's going to take a little time to shake that safety first approach from them
Not read any of the replies on here but, Rosieball lives. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Yeah, I was under the impression we'd seen the end of playing it along the back and presenting the opposition with chances. Nah, no chance, we handed them a couple of gilt edged ones they thankfully spurned.
