That's all very well but the transport costs to the ground are enormous.

The travelling away fans base is certainly very small. There are about a dozen from Chateauroux that you can see at all the away games, unless it is a local derby when a coach will be hired. In League 2 you have two teams, Bastia and Ajaccio from Corsica, meaning that travel really is expensive for all the clubs and fans in that division. Ajaccio has a lovely ground, with one end open so you have a view of the mountain peaks in the distance, that from November onwards are snow covered. There was a third side in Corsica, but they have been wound up due to financial problems.

Sorry Frenchie. I thought you were advertising the season tickets and I was suggesting why I would have to think long and hard about buying one.

West Brom have been placed under an EFL-imposed business plan which will limit their transfer activity in this window, Sky Sports News can reveal, amid concerns they are on course to breach the League’s financial rules.

Well we are skint apparently so won’t have much to spend either .

West Brom just been taken over too so it shows new owners are not always the simple solution.

Interesting question regarding a penalty award for Wimbledon against Colchester. The Colchester defender who handled the ball appeared to be off the pitch when he did it - a scenario that doesn't appear to be covered in the Laws of the game. Presumably the ref knows what he is doing though...

If the ball is on / within the pitch (in play) then the handling player is "on the pitch" even if only his hand is in. I've seen instances where a player has caught an out of play ball whilst standing on the pitch, then stepping off to take a quick throw.

From my one viewing of the incident, he was chasing back a high ball with a Wimbledon player and looked to be both behind the ball and off the pitch when he handled it.

But was the ball out of play? The ball position matters, the player does not. The officials adjudged the ball was still in - rightly or wrongly.

Well the ball was in front of him and he was just over the byline - should have been a goal kick really.

The sort of incident var would be useful for...

Ryan Lowe has left Preston as manager by mutual consent following Friday's 2-0 defeat to Sheffield United.

Is one game before departure a new record?

Raith Rovers sacked their manager after one game too .

Lowe never seemed that popular there but they did well last season

That was a strange decision to say the least. Ian Murray had taken Raith to second spot in the table last season, although they ultimately lost both legs of the play-off final against Ross County. So for the club to say "results and performances since the turn of the year have fallen short of expectations" is slightly odd.

But it wasn't after one game - it was after five. They have played four League Cup matches too - winning three of them and losing one rather narrowly to Ross County.

I suspect their owners will be patient and not knee jerk but the fans mlght be .

Sounds like they are struggling to get players in and having a few injuries which is what happened with us under Edwards too I think.

My close friend - PNE season ticket holder - also supports Raith - origin of his family. So lighting can strike twice !
