You will have to come to Kendal mate, there’s still a shop there with the Woolies sign up. Hope I don’t see you .
There was a quick picture of him on the stream and imo he didn't look that impressed with the way we were playing.
Think he comes across as a bloke who knows how he wants his team to play and if they aren't doing it they could win 4-0 and he would still call them out on it!
Just got a text from my Mam “You watching the game, where is it on”. “Community shield? Yeah itv” “No the Sunderland game”… She thought it kicked off at 3!!
Andy’s Player Ratings: Cardiff 0-2 Sunderland - Three points, two goals and a clean sheet! Sunderland picked up three points on the opening day of the season away at Cardiff thanks to goals from Luke O’Nien and Jack Clarke. Here’s how Andy rated the Lads! By Andy Tomlinson@SAFCsource Aug 10th, 2024, 2:31pm BST 11 Comments / 11 New Anthony Patterson: 6/10 Quite an uneventful afternoon for Patterson, a couple of routine saves and claims from crosses. Kicking could be better but didn’t cause any issues. Trai Hume: 7/10 A really good battle to start the game with Willock, who caused him some issues, but kept at it and shut him out as the game wore on. Luke O’Nien: 7/10 Really good at getting us out of the Cardiff press with a quick pass or turn away from pressure. Marshalled the defence really well and popped up with our first goal of the season. Aji Alese: 7/10 Some really good blocks and tackles when Cardiff threatened and gave away a good free kick late on when Cardiff where in a dangerous position. Dennis Cirkin: 8/10 Snuffed out his side really well, with Cardiff not really threatening down our left. Also got on the end of Roberts’ free kick to set up the first goal and was up and down the line all game. Dan Neil (C): 6/10 A bit of a quiet game in the middle of the park, playing it simple but covering a lot of ground to close down the home side. Alan Browne: 7/10 Really showed his experience on the ball, always looks like he has plenty of time and often in great positions to either stop attacks or find space in attacking areas himself, had one opportunity to put in a dangerous cross but overhit it. Patrick Roberts: 7/10 Involved in our best two chances, first with a great free kick onto Cirkin’s head for O’Nien’s goal and then a lovely reverse ball to set Jobe away for Mayenda’s chance. Jobe Bellingham: 7/10 Closed down well and did some great work off the ball, played in Mayenda for his chance and then won the ball back in the centre circle late on, ran forward and then played in Clarke for the second goal. Jack Clarke: 7/10 Wasn’t having an eye-catching game before he popped up at the end to seal the win, but great to see him linking up with Cirkin again. Eliezer Mayenda: 6/10 Worked hard up front without much reward until just before he went off where he was played in for a one-on-one by Jobe, but his early shot was saved the goalkeeper’s foot, really should have scored though. Substitutes Nazariy Rusyn: 6/10 Was busy after coming on for Mayenda, had a slight chance when he almost got his toe on a Cirkin cross. Chris Rigg: 6/10 Kept the ball well after coming on for Roberts. Romaine Mundle: N/A A very late change for Clarke. Man of the Match: Dennis Cirkin We really missed him for most of last season and he showed why today. Defended great all afternoon with little threat coming down his side and he got forward at every opportunity to give Clarke support. He also managed to get himself an assist after he got on the end of a free kick and picked out O’Nien at the back post. please log in to view this image
Clarke played a lot better, his defensive game was far better, his movement was far better his end product was far better.
I’m normally on the happy clapper side of the fence so I’m delighted that my view we played poorly isn’t shared by others Clean sheet so important tho and I liked our 4-4-2 block defensive shape. Was just on the ball I thought we looked poor
