We made Cardiff look poor there.

Their manager was blocked off with all his tactics and reverted to throwing the big lads on ...

... not very methodical although they have enough good players.

They'll finish top half and beat a lot of teams down there.

Cracking start to the season, we looked well organised but thought we were poor in possession in that 2nd half

Cirkin motm, just different class - honestly think hes the best LB in the league

O9 n Jobe just behind him in my motm. O9 having another quality performance at CB - thought Alese did pretty well as well

Browne was very impressive in his debut and will be class for us

Neil was sloppy in possession today but broke up play really well today

Clarke is clarke, he was poor 2nd half then just that match winning ability

Mayenda, very raw and needs to add some aggression - he had 4 shots today, thats good for a young CF

Pretty happy with that and gives us plenty to build on goinv forward

We have not been poor though we definitely started poorly. I would say it was a very good away type perfomamce and gives us another week to implement RLB's approach as well as another week to buy a striker hopefully!

Weren't at our best, but a proper away performance. We'll need to do more of that this season.

Liked how even the younger lads showed experience in slowing the game down 2nd half. From taking free kicks 10 yards away, to delaying throw ins and goal kicks.

A centre forward away from being a decent team.

Agreed. It was a typical away opening game, Cardiff lots of ball, nullified by the most part by us. Goals were excellent. It was a very good away performance, not great to watch, but a win that Sir Alex would’ve been delighted with

Very good away performance that. Organised, good shape and a good press. Took our opportunities and limited them to little. What a difference having a fit Cirkin and Alese mind. Jobe sensational for the second goal.

Delighted with that, excellent for RLB to get off the mark early. 2-0 win away from home and clean sheet, can't ask for much more.

Definitely some teething problems with the style of play, thought our press at times was a bit disjointed and some of our patterns of play were off. Desperately need a forward, doesn't even need to be a goalscorer just someone we can play up to. As @FellTop said earlier we need a wall up front to play off.

Some of our transition attacks were excellent, especially in the first half. We attack with so much pace, teams just can't deal with it.

In terms of stand out players i'll go with Jobe and Cirkin. Both top class. Browne had a good debut and you can see that he is going to add so much to this team. Clarke doing what Clarke does.

    Great start.

First time in a long time looks like we have a manager who knows exactly how he wants his team to set up They had a lot of the ball but our shape and work rate out of possession was class. Very compact forcing them to the wings and dealing with the crosses A lot of teams will be forced to play long against us Bit rough round the edges still but coaching master class from RLB

Solid at the back. Could have had a third in Mayenda. Midfield some good individual performances but didn’t look a cohesive unit yet. Work to be done forward as we know but Clarke is back.

Funny game really, more played at a training pace.
We need to be a bit more careful in possession, the lads all puts a shift in. Would like to have seen Mayenda finish his chance for his confidence.
Great result well done our new manager and the team, great start to the season.

well, plenty of nerves afore kick off, first game is always a pain so i am going to avoid any finger pointing...suffice to say that this is the first game the lads have had to put everything into practice and shake off any early season nerves, there were mistakes made across the park and plenty that could have been done differently.

overall the lads stood up to the task although i did get a wee bit worried into the 2nd half when we seemed to sit back too much but the introduction of rigg and rusyn before him got us moving again RLB got the subs about right, maybe a little late.

happy with that though, browne played as if he has been part of the team for years, cirkins return was a joy to see, fouled so much in the first half he certainly added plenty to our left side.

my MotM goes to cirkin with onien a close 2nd and to the rest, well done lads, difficult first game, handled it well.

I have to say even tho I’m highly critical of him. I rated Jobe today! Was involved in all the build up

Jobe was quality today IMO. Just looks to have matured. Decision making top notch. Basically made Clarkes goal all on his own as well.
