From Livescores.com https://www.livescore.com/en/footba...ardiff-city-vs-sunderland/1263359/prediction/ Team news Cardiff have been hit by a huge injury blow on the eve of the new season, with Isaak Davies undergoing surgery on a hamstring tear and he is now expected to be out until December. Jamilu Collins is not back until early October due to a leg problem, while Kion Etete is out until November because of a similar issue. Sunderland centre-back Jenson Seelt has been ruled out until late August after picking up a knee issue back in March, while Pierre Ekwah and Dan Ballard are also unavailable due to injury. Prediction There is a sense of the unknown for Sunderland heading into the new campaign, with new manager Regis Le Bris set for his first taste of English football. Frenchman Le Bris could not stop Lorient from being relegated to Ligue 2 last season, which resulted in him walking away from his post and it is unclear how well his methods will work on Wearside. The 48-year-old has inherited a young squad that is lacking quality in quite a few departments and his side will find life tough when they make the trip to Wales on Saturday. Cardiff have added experienced players to their ranks this summer, providing Bulut with more strength in depth and they could be genuine play-off contenders this season. With a vociferous home crowd behind them, the Bluebirds can get the win and make the perfect start to the campaign.
OK, I promise not to pollute this thread again, out of respect to RTB and other posters, but FFS ... ... I honestly believe part of the fear of a bad result is because of the miserable reaction on social media, you could post it now. There are thousands of decent people, going down to Cardiff or watching at home, who'll be called 'happy clappers', part of the problem, accepting mediocrity, wearing rose tinted glasses, thinking everything's great, etc, if we dare to lose. It's day one of a new season, a traditional time for blind optimism for all football fans, transfer window still open and there's posts on social media and threads on RTG pouring out the vitriol and we haven't even kicked off yet. There are already a dozen absolutely identical threads but 'Daffy' proudly repeats exactly the same thing, on a thread of his own, and gets dozens of likes, an absolute Tsunami of bile. Even worse he's already posted the same thing on all of the other threads Here it is, in all it's glory Today at 12:19am No Ambition or investment From the top . A big fat zero spent on recruitment We all know we are going to struggle this season , brought another puppet in to dance to their tune , considering he was the only one that would take the job Dodds & Proctor still running the shiit show What a time This won’t end well Reactions:JOEJA, JohnLambie'spigeon, HarrogateMackem and 34 others
I don’t understand this mentality Smug. There's a few sides better for sure, there’s a couple holes in the squad for sure, but **** me so we have some talented players and some incredible potential and upside. I’m excited for the season, I’m excited about Reg, clearly a football thinker who is smart and sees the game, talks brilliantly. Clarke still here. Big Dan still here. Smaller Dan still here. Jobe still here. Patto still here. Cirks fit. Hummel kits. Aye I’m buzzing for it the time for negativity will be 4 weeks time if we tank.
On our way after an overnight stay at Tewkesbury, following watching Durham win at Gosforth (part one ticked). Just said to my son that although we enjoy going to the cricket and want them to win, this is another level. Butterflies are starting but more excitement because I have faith on the players and the manager from what I have seen/ heard so far. As I have lready said on another thread, I just want to be entertained like I was early last season/season before and the results will take care of themselves. Early signs via friendlies suggests that I may get my wish. Just entering M4 into Wales - can't wait
First game of the season is finally here, it's come round quick. Going to change my earlier prediction as I have a feeling Mayander will score today, so we will still win 0-2 but Mayander to score early and then Rigg to secure the win with a late goal. Haway the lads, get them panicking at the back with our high press and keep at it all game
61 y.o. and it's been like Xmas Eve. Hardly slept for anticipating (or dreading) the big kick-off. I really don't have a clue how it's going to go this season .
First few games of the season always unpredictable but I fancy us to win today. Hopefully see a dominant performance to go with it and get the season rolling straight away. 2-1 to the lads. Mayenda first goal.
I think he's right too. It's easy to undervalue your own side, because it's human nature that we see the weaknesses in our team, but don't equally appreciate all the strengths. I'm going for 1-3 today, with 3 different scorers for the lads (Clarke, Mayenda + 1 other).
