I remember that game. I was 14 or 15 and absolutely convinced that the ref was against us and giving us nothing. I don't think there was even a big decision in the game but all the free kicks were going their way, or at least to my adolescent mind they were. We were just about on the front row so I probably couldn't even see these incidents very well but I was very sure of it at the time, and it always seemed like we got nothing at Bramall Lane. I was swearing my head off at the ref through a breaking voice, probably very annoying to be stood near.
I remember it very well, alas I wasn't 14 or 15.....The game of the 2 balls.....Their ballboys were up to all sorts of $hithousery at every opportunity by throwing two balls onto the pitch to stop the game....Must have occurred three or four times. I mentioned it to someone at Blunderside and the idiot, naive 'football reporter' thought I was off my head for suspecting such a thing...They were coached in the dark arts when Colin was there..
Yeah I remember that too. I'm pretty sure the multi-ball system was stopped for years shortly after that, and I always chose to believe it was purely because of Sheff United abusing it systematically.
