Same. Crypto is essentially betting in my eyes anyway. Its just betting over currency rates. No betting. No crypto. No forex. Would love it, and can genuinely see it, if the club found a way to get VAUX on the shirts from next season. In the absence of any high paying multinationals.
Personally don’t care to much about the nature of the business if it’s bringing money into club. I like a bet, Crypto paid for half my car, I like a drink…. Would be lovely to have nice clean sponsors etc that do wonders for the world, but we ain’t in that world so it is what it is.
Surely stocks and shares are the same thing though. The only difference is that stocks and shares have been around a lot longer than crypto. I’ve had crypto for a few years now. Its value has fluctuated in exactly the same way as the stock market. At the moment I’m up. In a few days/months I could be down.
Not at all. Socks and shares are investments in companies that produce things. Crypto is a pile of ****e Ponzi.
If you say so. It’s a Ponzi that’s been going for years though. I don’t really understand it either but just because crypto doesn’t invest in a tangible asset that doesn’t mean that its products don’t have a value. If it is a Ponzi scheme then Bitcoin for example has done very well out of it.
The truth is there are not many clean multinational or big sponsors they will all get their hands dirty in one way or another. And some of our fans will always find a way to dis like or discredit a sponsor. Betting companies are not great but the truth is that people need to self regulate themselves (gambling addiction is a problem and it is growing) Alcoholism is also a growing problem so should we be sponsored by a brewery?? Car manufacturers, insurance companies, large stores or retail conglomerates all have their own problems along with large financial institutions. To be honest everybody seems to have a need to give an opinion on everything. People always think they are right and stand on the high ground in judgement of everything without educating themselves enough to give their opinion. I know nothing of the new sponsor or their business dealings or even what they do but they are one of our sponsors/partners and as such I will look into the company to satisfy interest but I am fairly sure that KLD and his team will have done their due diligence on this matter.
A Ponzi is based on taking peoples mi why where there can be no return. You can easily buy, sell and trade Crypto. I’ve only got a couple of grand left in it, but I made a fair chunk out of it, it’s very much real. Sketchy? Yeah a bit cos you’ve no clue what it actually is really. But no, not a Ponzi. As EJK says I also have shares, or I think I do, I see the value of them in accounts but I don’t physically have anything to show for it unless I sell them. People, and I mean normal people, man in the street people, have made tens of thousands, millions from Crypto. Knowing when to sell and using the right platforms.
Ponzi was a lazy term. I know what crypto is. I think it's a solution for a problem that doesn't exist. The only thing driving it is people trying to get rich from it. Blockchain can have it's uses. But the coin aspect is nonsense. And yes I made tens of thousands from it.
I agree mate. I thought when I hoyed some money into it would develop into something we’d have a debit card for and all that craic. Seemed a logical change for the way world was going. Became apparent that wasn’t happening any time soon so took a load out and left what was about 3-400 in that’s now couple grand, just in case it does blow up and I did t wanna be like these people who sold a Bitcoin for a grand and could have had millions. It’s also how murky it all is for me. I used Binance to buy and sell and they are massive, sponsor Lazio the lot. Still felt totally faceless to use them. At least with my shares and such I can kinda see what they are as the companies exist. Also it’s always interested me reading about business and finance and shares add a layer to that, kinda like chucking an acca on the footy gets you more engaged
