Nice to see the courts and cps going in heavy on them. Also no surprise to see they’ve stepped down on the Labour councillor from inciting murder to one charge of encouraging violent disorder.

Bloke from Hartlepool got 26 months for shouting in an officers face I believe, so we’ll see what inciting murder brings..

I never look at Facebook, X or anywhere else but I wouldn't be offended if I did.

But I think you're missing the point, unless I'm wrong.

It's not the effect these words have on anyone who's offended, no one ever died because they found something offensive.

It's the effect this misinformation has on people who see that a Muslim illegal immigrant has knifed three children ...

... so they go onto the streets, attack Muslims in cars, attack mosques and immigrant hotels.

That's a direct effect that could've ended in deaths.

    Words have consequences.

"A 55-year-old woman from Chester, Bonnie Spofforth, 55, posted the false claim at 4.49pm on Monday, July 29, the day of the attack, saying: ‘Ali Al-Shakati was the suspect, he was an asylum seeker who came to the UK by boat last year and was on an MI6 watch list."

The businesswoman, who lives in a £1.5million farmhouse in Cheshire, told MailOnline she ‘first received this information from somebody in Southport’.

Case in point ... he either did or he didn't, it's absolutely clear cut.

No one has ever gone to prison just for shouting.

So Barry, 51 from Hull, posting on Facebook that he’s sick of Muslims in the UK is a direct threat that could’ve ended in deaths? Totally depends what the content is but again, if you used social media you would see that this thing happens all day every day in relation to every political conflict around the globe.

Liberals and Republicans, Left and Right wing, Israel and Palestine, Ukraine and Russia, Trans and Straight folk, Pakistanis and Women’s rights. If you arrested everyone who’s posted something you see as “hateful” toward another demographic/race/religion then you wouldn’t have enough space in the UK to house them all. I think that’s the point being made.

You have people posting all day long that Hamas/Palestinians are terrorists. You have others posting that Israel are terrorists. You have others posting pictures of dead children in warzones. Now you have people saying that Muslims in the UK are a problem or whatever they’re whinging about and it’s suddenly an arrest-able offence. If you can’t see why that’s a BIG issue then there’s not really anything else to say you’re always going to see it through tinted glasses but it’s ironic that people are claiming those taking the streets are nazis whilst also trying to control what you can and can’t say.

It’s also ironic that the instigating crime itself was commit by a member of the BAME community. So if the thick ****ers taking to the streets blaming Muslims used their loaf and highlighted concerns that it’s yet another BAME individual they would’ve actually had a valid point.

Freedom of Speech is only actually true if you’re left leaning.

He also pleaded guilty to violent conduct, so he obviously did a little more than shouting. To me anyone actively inciting violence should be locked for 2 years anyway, things seemed to have quietened down since news of the tough sentencing broke.

The country is finished mate. There is no middle ground just a cavernous trench, there is no chance for reconciliation, it's over.

See those "leftie" lawyers are having no joy with their clients. A "left" wing government is handing out swift justice of lengthy jail terms within a week of the riots. <laugh>

He’s charged with ‘encouraging violent disorder’.
    If convicted he’ll be jailed.
Arrested Thursday, charged Friday, court tomorrow. Fast tracking them through the justice system

It's really nice to see the courts and C.P.S. dealing with these properly, with heavy sentences :emoticon-0148-yes:

It's almost as if someone in this Labour government has working knowledge of the criminal justice system. And, what can and can't be done :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Just seen one of the offenders who’s been charged already urged people to “smash the **** out of the Britannia hotel.”

    Clown.

Imagine throwing away a year of your life for that.

Okey dokey, I think that's nonsense but, as you choose to ignore virtually every point I post I'll leave it there.

You seem to treat everything in extremis and black or white which I can't be bothered with.

No offence, it's just that I can't stand anything black and white <laugh>

    • Bradley Makin, 21, of Simonside Road, Springwell, Sunderland, who posted videos of himself "roaring encouragement" at rioters in Sunderland on his Instagram account, has been jailed for two years.
That's like shooting yourself in the foot, reloading and shooting yourself in the other foot.

What a way to ruin your life, absolute lunacy.

As I said, no one has ever been convicted of shouting.

The Labour councillor, Ricky Jones, has been charged and remanded in custody until September 6th.

So he's already doing time which indicates he'll probably be looking at a custodial sentence ...

... it's only a pre-trial hearing so he may well end up being remanded in custody again.

Not only as stupid as other people, he's in a position of responsibility and supposed to set a good example.

It's been a while since I stayed there but I would again, it's cheaper than camp sites in the area ...

... the Britannia Nottingham is absolute bedlam, on weekends, when they have stag & hen nights competing to see who can be voted the most repulsive people on earth.

They don't like it when I win <laugh>
