Yeah 100% There is no rules any more. It's a sniffle. If you run well sub 20 then it's a sniffle. If you run about screaming before hand it's certainly not respiratory issue Me thinks he doth protest too much. Maybe a silver turned to a bronze.
The heptathalon looks very tight now. We need another big throw here, kat got a good though but not an amazing one and she really needs to go for a big one now I think she is assured of silver with the throw she has but needs 2 metres more to really be in for gold assuming here rival throws massively. Long jump honestly was disappointing
She has improved. 45.49m That's going to.put her in a very good position for gold unless the Belgian woman throws a record.
To me, decathlon should be worth more than one medal. Yeah, some may run, some may jump, some may throw.... But being best overall at all of them, that's the real star athlete of the Olympics.
The other woman seems to be someone who will be slow in the 800m. It was 10m difference in the javelin so big but kat seems to walk up to the line to get a good release rather than properly run up amd throw hard. The long jump imo cost her.
Think there is about 5seconds between both their pb in 800m so it needs a brilliant run by KJT and other woman to have a shocker.
I've had it a few times now. The first was by far the worst - it took me two years for my voice to recover. A couple of times it's been no worse than a heavy cold. This latest time I had two days of fever and now it's just after-effects, have to wait and see how long it lingers. I really can't see how any athlete who has genuinely come down with it can compete - it just takes your strength away.
Theoretical question: Assume there is an athletics competition like the Olympics but set up more like Formula One... Where there are various teams with two teammates instead of countries... Instead of different race tracks you have different Olympic events . There is a team championship and an individual championship. Now suppose if you win an event you get 25 points. So win the 100M you get 25 points your teammate doesn't do as well and only gets 5 points. As a team your team gets 30pts (25+5) Now, imagine you get gold as a pair in volleyball. Would it be fair for both teammates to earn 25 points or should they each get 12.5 points? How many points should the team get? If they only got 25 they would be getting less than theoretically possible in an individual event where both could get points.
Anyone see the wall climbing today? And the kite surfing thingy. I personally hate to see dull crap like golf (mens or womens) thst I don't want to see and don't want to see any week where it is generally available to me. You get a glimpse of these amazing people doing stunning things and it catches your interest. I'd rather watch paint dry than Olympic golf.
Watching massively.roided dudes lifting 211kg weights. Maybe someone will explode a testicle, maybe not but we can at least all agree they will all die prematurely of the drug abuse.
