Solanke looked really good last year in an average Bournemouth side. Not reason why he can't do well in a better team. Can't have a whole fluke season.
it’s hardly surprising. We’ve had plenty of time to secure a deal, but haven’t done so for whatever reason. Other than Eze, I don’t really know what other concrete interest we have in any other players. It’s either being kept very hush hush, or these are the players we have “committed” to, and there’s no one else. It’ll be really interesting to see who we end up with, if anyone.
Yeah others have spoken about things possibly being hush hush but that would generally imply we’ve signed players out of the blue which we haven’t. It’s been hush hush because we’ve done next to nothing . Said it before but the stark contrast of Paratici working on things and others working on things is chalk and cheese.
Think they signed some keeper the other day as it goes, another one of their £20m 7 year contract things.
I can't see us spending circa £60m twice in the same window, unless we somehow shift Reguilon/Lo Celso/Skipp/Bissouma/Kulu for a nice amount of money. Assuming Solanke goes through, that takes our spending to £105m. We've taken in barely £25m from Rodon and Hojbjerg (and the latter won't be reflected on this year's books). Emerson could take that to £37m. Net spend is already close to £70m. Can't see us adding £50-60m on top of that without selling first.
They've got something like eight on the books at this point Kepa Sanchez Bettinelli The bloke signed from New England Revolution last summer The bloke signed from Villarreal this summer Three academy keepers Three academy keepers out on loan
I don’t think Bissouma’s going anywhere, personally wouldn’t want him to either. I’m probably in the same boat with Kulu too, both frustrated the **** out of me at times last season but they have so much quality that I’m hoping they can just find consistency. This would probably be last chance saloon for both though. I reckon Reguilon, Lo Celso and possibly Skipp will all leave but for how much is anybody’s guess. You’ve also got the circa £7m or so for Parrott. If we did include Hojbjerg’s fee in this season’s sales along with Parrott and Rodon’s fees then we were only roughly about £10m net spend after the Gray deal. With Solanke now too it’s gonna be around £70m. If we can shift the three I’ve mentioned, I don’t see why we couldn’t spend another £60m, it’s more down to the club “going for it” or just banking on what they have which we often do.
Mental how much they’ve spent on the position too, Kepa alone was about £60m-£70m iirc. Don’t wanna jinx it but our £17m on Vicario is a masterstroke in comparison.
They’ve got the here we go for Neto, €60m plus €3m in add-ons. Genuinely not sure who we’ll target now. Chiesa’s name might pop up again, not many other decent RWs seemingly about at the moment.
Same random journo claims we offered cash and Skipp for Neto which Wolves rejected. Bet that was a Grealish - Onomah special.
The club wanted a deal. Mendes likes to deal with clubs that have real money and aren't going to haggle on everything. Sure, he'd use us as a stalking horse to draw out someone willing to pony up more in transfer fees, agent commission, wages, etc. After it happened to us on Luis Diaz, we should have known better. Hopefully, that's lesson learned...
Have to wonder if Ange's comment the other day of only looking at players interested in joining us rather than the paycheque was aimed at Neto
Wolves were linked with a loan move for Solomon yesterday Well, looks like they can make it a permanent deal...
no idea why we are buying him. we have so many players and the one player i wanted to keep (gallagher) we sold off because we don't have any money (also why we are selling chalobah, one of our best defender) Will have to sell some more gems to make up for it next year.
I really think he’s class, the only sticking point is his injury issues but if he avoids them I reckon you’ll have one of the best wide forwards in the league for the next 5+ years. Bloke is absolute mustard.
