From what I read there was a list of 39 'targets' posted on 'X' about these protests, nothing happened. Were they genuine?,I'm genuinely not convinced.
It's more than likely a prison sentence if they've been involved in any violent conduct.Better for them if they admit their part and enter a guilty plea. Anyway,Godzilla has just phoned Humberside Police and dobbed me in after seeing exhibit photo 2/7 in the HDM..
From what I've seen I believe the planned protests were genuine. I've been on here and City Independent a long time and my views and track record are, I would hope, fairly obvious. I don't make things up but accept that relying on what I say on the internet as gospel might be seen as asking too much. All I ask is that you allow for a possibility that the planned protests may have been genuine. Which is why I wrote Cityzen may have been mistaken, not that he was.
I'm not doubting your integrity and I've never clashed with your views or your track record. You come across as a reasonable person and poster but if this is solely based on opinion, then mine clearly differs. Of course there is a possibility that they were genuine but there's also the possibility they weren't.
I know you weren't questioning my honesty but some people have in the past, mainly over the Allams it has to be said. Some things are in the public domain, which can be shared and some aren't. I accept that they may have been a hoax or planted by the security services but for me they probably weren't, but I can't prove it 100%. We can agree to disagree and one day it may all come out in the wash.
Well the bloke who heads Hope Not Hate said the list was a hoax and he shouldn’t have put it. on his site. He admitted that the claim of a Muslim woman being attacked wit acid was not true either. Wonder if he will be charged with passing on information likely to cause trouble like the woman the police have hauled in for passing on, not starting, the false information about the Southport thug?
I get where you're coming from 100%. Hoax or not, they have cost us all a significant amount of money.
Might have been planted by the police or the SWP or some other lefties trying to foment trouble. If the leader of Hope Not Hate says they were a hoax and he shouldn’t have shown them it is a good indication they were a hoax.
Really? Where did you see that? He said the exact opposite yesterday. “It’s clear that the person who compiled the list of demos yesterday was clearly hoping that people would turn up, but also saw an upside to creating fear & panic. It’s the same man who called the initial protest in Southport and Liverpool. Idea that it was a hoax is wrong” https://x.com/lowles_nick/status/1821458069278056551?s=46&t=DAxwWj15XaMBwCrrY9gKFQ
Nick Lowles, head of Hope Not Hate: "Just to clarify, by hoax I’m meaning that the bloke simply compiled a list and hoped people would turn up, rather than being arranged by local people" I think that's slightly different from saying it was a hoax. I think from the 30 odd protests that did take place he got what he wanted. I agree that Hope Not Hate should be more careful about what they accept as facts and publish. I think you'll agree that the consequences of what the woman passed on about the alleged murderer (he hasn't been convicted yet) and from the falsely attack on the Muslim woman with acid were completely different. Even the BBC in their live feed repeated the allegation about the Muslim woman.
He said it was a hoax but it was good as it brought out people to oppose it. Maybe he is changing his tune. He also admitted that the reports of a Muslim women being attacked with acid were untrue after the police informed him of no such incident occurring.
I think dennisboothstash has answered who circulated the list, neither the SWP, or a leftie, or the police.
