I hope our pursuit of Twine hasn’t left us short of an attacking option at the end of this month. If the Twine deal doesn’t materialise, we have lost the whole pre-season for any new signing to come in and work with the squad… A heck of a gamble for a player who was only ok last season IMO..
Yu Hirakawa, Ross McCrorie, Joe Williams: Bristol City injury latest ahead of Hull City Bristol City have emerged from pre-season with only a few injury issues and travel to the MKM Stadium with a near full-strength squad https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-injuries-hull-hirakawa-9468589
I hope we aren't too focused on the Twine deal especially as our injury list is already starting to grow. City are saying they will go to Hull with almost a full squad and that sends alarm bells going off in my head as it would not be a good thing in my books. There is a gut feeling that things might not go as well as we need this upcoming season and if I'm brutally honest Twine didn't do too much to impress, and still having Wells, Cornick and Mehmeti around as our supposed goal scorers is not a thing of beauty.
Harsh to class Mehmeti in with Wells & Cornick. For me he’s not a striker in the way the other 2 are, hence bringing in Sinclair and Maylu. A bit worried that McRorie is injured again…
'I hope our pursuit of Twine hasn’t left us short of an attacking option at the end of this month. If the Twine deal doesn’t materialise, we have lost the whole pre-season for any new signing to come in and work with the squad' Spot on. 'A heck of a gamble for a player who was only ok last season IMO' I disagree, I think he's exactly the player we need.
Was that down to him though, or more the system we used, also it meant knight was used in his more natural role. I wasn’t over impressed with him, he was ok, but not a world beater, and not worth £4m imo
Defo not worth £4m - no chance! For £2m, and with a manager he trusts from his past, he’s probably worth a gamble.

3 ex-City players on the scoresheet in the Championship opener between Blackburn v Derby this evening.
Great to see Weimann score on his debut - against his old club that classed him as ‘not the player we need in order to get to where we want to be’ just before they dropped to L1!!!!! I bet that felt good for him - well done Andi.
