I'm hoping that if this one does truly fall through then Emerson himself will still try seeking a move, he was supposedly pushing for the Milan deal as he no longer wants to be a backup so it'd make sense for him to seek other options.

I'd worry Ange will select him over Spence if he does stay though.

 

Yeah fingers crossed he’s gone permanently by the end of the month.

I’d be very surprised and disappointed if Ange choose Emerson over Spence after what we’ve heard in pre season.

Sounds like Richarlison's staying, he's shut down any move to Saudi by saying the money there is big but his dreams are bigger.

If one of your dreams could be to be fit, that'd be nice. Second one then to be able to score over 15 goals in a season.

All I've said is that I think he is worth slightly more than Richarlison.

I haven't said what I think Richarlison is worth. It certainly isn't £60m.

Not a surprise Richy doesn't want to head to the Saudi league, given they not make the Chinese Super League's sportswashing tsunami of a decade ago look austere in comparison, but the sportswashing is so blatant that only someone who plays for Chelsea or would want to be in a country with as few extradition treaties as possible would head there

 

L'Equipe report that Bournemouth are looking to sign Atalanta striker El Bilal Toure - although Stuttgart are also in the running

Also worth noting they're on the verge of signing Julian Araujo from Barca

Can't help but wonder where the money to pay for a striker and RB came from...

 

Ornstein is reporting that Bournemouth have agreed to sell Solanke for a record fee, and talks continue with us to finalise the transfer.

Honestly don’t know how I feel about this. I really hope it’s a masterstroke of a signing that gives us the typical No9 we’re missing, but at the same time, with the reported fee, I can’t help but feel it could be another expensive one with mediocre results.

Still some time left for additions, but so far it’s such an underwhelming transfer window again.

All that's been mentioned is that it's a 'record fee' for Bournemouth, which means it might not be the full release clause of £65m.

Iirc their current record is Ake to City for around £45m.

Last season made it pretty clear that Ange doesn't particularly need a no.9 who will score 20 goals a season. With so much movement and fluidity in the final third, he just needs someone to tie it all together as well as carving out spaces for others to operate in.

This is why we play better when Richarlison is on the pitch, even though he is bang average.

The problem is we don't yet have good enough wide players for the 9 to get the best out of the system. LW is in safe hands but not for much longer, unless Moore develops really quickly. RW is more of a concern as none of the options there are consistent.
