Southampton are recently promoted after winning the championship play offs against Leeds. A lot of the saints fans aren’t to happy with their transfer window so far either, especially noticing a lack of numbers/talent in the forward area. In the last 44 matches between the two clubs Newcastle have won 22 matches, Southampton winning 13 and 9 draws. We have a decent record as of late against the Saints with us beating them 3-1 not so long ago to reach the final of the League Cup and also beating them in the League when we last met. It is a favourable match to open the season with especially at home, yet promoted clubs can be tricky.. a manager we’ve not been put against whilst also them playing with something to prove. I’m hoping similar to Forest when they were newly promoted and we beat them. Yep and they will eventually when they can get the right player and not settle for someone. Cb is the main area of concern for me not rw. They desperately need some pace there.
We always get it right. The truth hurts but we always see the truth and the reality of situations. We see it early. However most people take time to see things and inevitably come around to our thinking. It’s just natural evolution.
