Then the clubs trying so you're fine mate, but the original narrative was just a load of old tosh. The media were saying the fans had unrealistic expectations and those banners were made to try and refute the claim while still trying to justify their protest. The fans want to win football matches it's very simple.
It may have been tosh for some but it’s always been my stance. You’re, however, mixing up two things. Wanting to win matches or trophies does not conflict with being happy with the Club so long as it tries.
The fans wanted to win games mate.. if the side was winning they wouldn't have been complaining. Ultimately they needed to complain and just didn't have the balls to say they wanted to compete and win more regularly. It's been proven with many because they're complaining about finishing 7th and not signing big names this summer.
We don’t need big names. We need signings. In the right positions. Every man and his dog knows where we need to strengthen. It wasn’t 2 reserve goalkeepers and it’s wasn’t a player from Sheffield United who has scored and assisted zero goal contributions. Albeit he’s one for the future so I accept that’s a future transfer plan. But this window thus far has been abysmal
Regardless of “what if” and optimism this is sadly correct. We have three weeks to stop ****ing about. It’s been terrible. I doubt anyone is impressed in Riyadh.
They've made signings. Ultimately the fanbase has got very greedy very quickly or it just always was like I said.
You just have to wait until the end of the window to judge it. It is so unbelievably complicated now trading players and massively costly if you get it wrong. We are building a good side. It sounds like we will get Guehi and bring someone decent in on the RW and it will be a good window for me. I do really want us to bring in a RW that means when we attack the oppo have to worry about both flanks at the same time.
As I said. Signings we didn’t need. Again. We didn’t need two reserve crap goalkeepers. We didn’t need a future youth prospect that currently looks like a flop. So these three signings are literally pointless for this season. Hall was already signed last season. So you can count that one out also. So we are left with 1 free transfer.
And I don’t think the fan base has got greedy. Suggesting where we need to strengthen isn’t being greedy. That’s just common practice for a football fan. Its no different to you suggesting we need to improve on Longstaff and Lascelles.
None. But they have a far superior squad. We need to improve on RW and CB. That’s all I am suggesting. I don’t think that’s unrealistic and unfair.
I want signings I just think we have to accept where the club is and I have absolutely no doubt they are trying.
Agree entirely. Cb and Rw and we will have a first 11 that can go toe to toe with teams that win things.
West Ham are interested in England right-back Kieran Trippier, with the 33-year-old's future at Newcastle yet to be decided. (Telegraph - subscription required) They can have him, they like paying a fortune for our cast offs, see Keiron Dyer.
The signing of Odysseas was highly necessary, as it was an essential component of the deal to sell Anderson for a fee that has, hopefully, saved us from receiving a potentially hefty points deduction.
I have noticed that your responses are always quite odd. My comments make no reference whatsoever to the fact the window is closed. I am merely making a statement based on what we require? Nothing more nothing less.
Well you have basically agreed with what I said. It was necessary for the FFP. Not for the improvement of the squad. Think about what you wrote.
