My truth is I don't know what's happening, some noise I like, some I don't, so I believe what I like and ignore the rest safe in the knowledge of my own ignorance.
Apparently, some of the delay was because of Howe being over in Japan. He wanted a face to face chat with Osula before signing off on his transfer.
Seeing as the transfer window has been crap perhaps someone should start the Southampton match thread, so we can get things going properly.
Couldn’t give much of a **** about Osula, he’s just a slightly better than youth signing. We still today, with just a week and a half left before kick off, need at least two senior first XI players. It has been ****ing **** from the club, even if recent rumours are more hopeful.
That narrative was under Ashley. Now we have slightly higher expectations. This window has just been weird.
Think it's pretty similar but the definition of compete has changed from trying to stay in the league to trying to break the top 4/win a pot. Personally happy with the progress over the last 2.5 years - it has been a strange window so far in that we seem to be linked with lots of top players but none come through (yet). Window isn't closed yet but they do need to get a first team RCB and RW through the door. Odyschelle, Ruddy, Osula, aren't first team players so not really sure why we've gone for them but atleast with Ody and Osula you can see why - potential for the young lad and a decent "swap" deal to cover PSR for the GK. Ruddy is a mystery - must be a coaching thing. Kelly and Hall will be around the first team and bring some depth so decent signings but not exactly exciting. RCB and RW of the likes being spoken about and I don't think anyone will be able to complain the club aren't signing the right players and then it's down to Howe to get a tune out of the squad. If he doesn't get those two are people giving him a bit more flexibility - seen some suggesting top 4/5 or he's gone? Personally think 5th is where we should be finishing if we get the two signings but if we don't I'm not sure.
Of course I want us to win something but that doesn't clash with my being satisfied if the Club are trying but not winning something. The two aren't exclusive. They can sit comfortably and properly together.
