They have had a mare. Played some top clubs. Still they have about 200 players on the books. In a side note re FFP Manu where given an extra 30m of wiggle room last year by the PL for Covid costs.
Saw this earlier today. Very shady - why would one club have an inflated allowance? Not sure what the justification could be there but the EPL are on thin ice in regards to FFP and I'd imagine most clubs are furious with this news today.
Our issue with transfer speed I think is the Saudi ownership. From my experience it’s really slow and drawn out to get anything done. Tends to be signatory after signatory, stamped documents, etc. Would’ve hoped that it would’ve got quicker since they took over but it’s weirdly gone the other way.
Really not, in the first January window with them we signed players very quickly, literally 5 players in a few weeks. Totally different to the Ashley era of rushed deals being done on deadline day.
It's got nothing to do with any bid from us, he's got to train because that's in the terms of his contract. Doesn't mean we've failed in a bid in the slightest. There's bids and conservations between clubs going on all the time in the summer, they never mean that players stop training.
Need to stop getting the knickers twisted. Who’d have thought in October 2021 that 3 years later we’d have players like Bruno, Isak, Gordon, Botman, Trippier, Hall, Tino, Tonali etc.. I mean we were settling for **** like Colback and Gosling not so long ago. We need to walk before we run. Patience is a virtue.
You chance your arm and go in low knowing what you're willing to pay and try to smoke out what the team is willing to sell for, smoke and mirrors.
Well I don’t know if they give prizes for stating the obvious, but you’re definitely a contender. Nobody knows how this works. Botman was thrashed out over about 2 months. Tonali for different reasons couldn’t be shoved out of Milan quick enough. I’m confident on Guehi, and Osula, but concerned about right wing. Time will tell.
Then people should accept it shouldn't they which was the point Im making. If he doesn't come I won't be at all surprised and vice versa... Newcastle have to offer what Palace want and it's really that simple.... so far they haven't.
I don't like being in limbo. I'd much rather be optimistic then disappointed rather than pessimistic and proved right or not engaged at all because we don't know. Not knowing is exciting, this is why we like football because the unexpected can happen.
Yeah I agree and what happens is people start finding reasons to justify their belief and begin to force them in others as fact. Truth is we don't know so at the moment it's all just noise.
