Ffs this transfer window has easily been the most frustrating under the new owners.

Our major two signings are Hall who was not really a signing this window. And Kelly for free.

The GK transfers were meh to say the least.

I am absolutely gobsmacked at how odd this has been?

Have PIF pulled the plug on funds?

Im assuming we’re getting Osula, Guehi and a top end Rw. Been tough as a window but we will be ok.

I reckon the DOF quitting had some impact, combined with the ownership reshuffle, but the board has never been fast with transfers, we are slow at everything in truth.

We were one of the last teams to reveal a kit.

Leaving all the big transfers to literally last minute, bickering over pennies is pretty much our usual fair these days.

Osula has already signed, as usual we just haven't bothered to announce it, we do this every window now. All reports are he was in Newcastle for a medical days ago, but they just haven't told us yet he's a Newcastle player, as usual.

I really hate how we operate, its ****ing tedious and so slow compared to our competition

Indeed it is very slow how we operate. Baffling in some instances.

We need to get over this now and make deals happen. Have we even announced the striker yet.

Something odd is happening at the club behind the scenes. We apparently lost another back room staff member this week.

    I assume it's a loada **** based on this:

"Newcastle United, however, saw their attempts to bring in Liverpool's Joe Gomez scuppered earlier in the window, with a deal that would have seen Anthony Gordon head to Anfield dismantled after alternative transfers were made to satisfy the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rulings hanging over them."

Yes, we were desperately trying to offload Gordon so we could bring in Gomez.

The whole article is based on Chelsea having a clause allowing them to have an offer accepted automatically if they equal any other offer that has been accepted for the player. Not that they have made an offer, or even that they are particularly interested in doing so at the money we are offering. They might do so, but there is no evidence for this in the 442 article, nor the ESPN journo's twitter post that inspired it.

Chelsea's pre season is ****e, which is kinda predictable, group was finally clicking with a decent manager and team coming together, so let's **** all this up with a new manager and a ****tonne of new players, good stuff.

I suspected the Guehi link was merely another maddison and Barella situation.

Too much noise, then bid rejected and then news of confidence.

More like Botman. Noise and positives followed by a lot of chatter how he’s got bigger and better choices than little old Newcastle.

Chelsea, for all the money, are a clusterfuck. They’re running out of assets to sell so are trying to buy everyone they can as a fallback. I can see a situation in the future where for all these stupid rules, Chelsea go bust.

Possibly yes, but until he's signed there's always a chance they'll get trumped.

Sure, but this doesn’t feel like it. Tosin felt a bit different.

Chelsea ruin careers, they're just a freakin mess right now.

Lukaku scores for fun everywhere else but has to be loaned out for years at Chelsea, Cucerella was awesome at Brighton and one of the stars of the recent Euros, but still Chelsea make him look dire. Same with Caicedo, turned him from a hot property to turd.

Really don't see him going there, and he'll know he'll get games with us.

Can't see Chelsea getting involved. They have 27 players needing registering in their first team squad already and 6 CB's although a few like Chalobah, Broja and Lukakau probably off but past that they need to register: Colwill, Diasi, Badashile, Fofana and Adarabiyo already at CB. Started preseason with 3 at the back but since drawing 2-2 with Wrexham and getting battered 4-1 by Celtic they gone to 4 at the back in their last 4 games so 5 senior CB's will probably be there lot while they can still use players like James and Chilwell as WCB's if they do want to go to a three.
