This would be the same reasonable, centre-ground Jeremy Clarkson who wanted Meghan Markle paraded naked through the streets being pelted with ****? Okay.
What he said is absolutely correct though. No one asked the British people if they wanted to multiply immigration tenfold In fact, every opportunity people have voted to slow it down. Yet politicians have done whatever they want since 1997. We now accept more illegal immigrants into the country annually (55k ish I believe) than we did legally for most of the 20th century. What does that mean? For every far right hooligan going to prison there is one radicalised anti-white person who Starmer is currently amplifying a message that the whole of the uk hates them. It’s horrifying leadership. We need him to read the room and calm things down, but instead he is pouring petrol on the fire and gaslighting everyone.
Yep. And how after not very long it becomes impossible not to do the “click ignored” and see. And then see something so outrageously pig ignorant that you feel compelled to respond even though you know it won’t make any difference
You're the one with the can of petrol and the *** in his mouth mate, but you're too hysterical to see it.
If fairness I am not sure anyone claimed Clarkson was reasonable or centre ground. Even he wouldn’t unlike all the grifters out there online who claim they are “centrists” but have almost exclusively right wing views and if they have shows with guests the guests are at least 80% right wingers (I’m not thinking of Rogan, Triggernometry, Russell Brand) I’ll always remember meeting an American around my age in Hong Kong in 2017. He was from Ohio and claimed he was an “Independent”. But on every key controversial political talking point he aligned with the Republicans. He even earnestly believed that not only was “abortion up to the date of birth” actually a thing, but a thing democrats were in favour of. It was notable that despite being fresh off a Trump victory - this was around October 2017 - he was effectively ashamed to admit his political stance to non Americans and so claimed he was an Independent. I guess it is a thing in American about being a registered Independent. But to me that is BS if you are going to vote one way every time. And it is perplexing as well
Not sure what to make of the Walz VP pick. I can understand not going with Shapiro due to the Democrat voters that have strong feelings about Israel-Gaza But I’d have thought they would want to shore up a swing state. Or is the logic now that with current polarisation the VP pick is unlikely to do that. I’m tempted to go and look at past VPs on both sides in recent elections From memory : Biden - solid blue state Palin - solid red state Ryan - swing state that he didn’t help turn red Pence - solid red state Kaine - blue state that can get close but isn’t usually a swing state Harris - very solid blue state So at least since 2008 bringing a state with you hasn’t been a factor. At the top or bottom of the ticket in most cases
I'd never use the ignore function personally. Partly for that reason but primarily that I trust in my willpower to not engage with anyone I don't want to.
Not true at all tbh. Where have I been hysterical? If anything these riots prove that my fears for the last few years have been correct and your world view is the blinkered/crazy one. It’s been absolutely obvious to me for ages that something like this could happen
From what I have been reading he seems to be being considered as a very smart pick. From a key Midwest state where he is very popular, 24 years of military service, former sports coach and teacher, progressive, politically experienced white male (which shouldn’t matter but it does as a ticket balancer). Ticks a lot of All-American boxes.
Starmer is the last person who I would consider as gaslighting an issue. I think he is his own person and will use measures to resolve situation on the streets. As for immigration, this issue has been highlighted by the right-wing media as a serious issue to divert attention from the economic structural upheavel in the 1970s and 1980s that has not really been resolved. Retail Parks do not replace the income that people earned when working in the manufacturing industry. For me, widening our productive industries and lessening the effects of Brexit for existing ones, eg suppliers of equipment for yachts, has been badly affected.
Your logic is flawed. How does Starmer sending racist ****s to prison send a signal to non-whites that the whole of the UK hates them? The UK hates fascism, always has done. These thugs being stirred up by Yaxley-Lennon from his holiday home in Cyprus are a tiny, tiny minority of the British people. We don’t hate immigrants, we welcome them, because the vast majority of them work hard doing necessary jobs and pay taxes into the economy. The other side of the coin is to ask why it is that so many asylum seekers come to Britain from their own countries. Fleeing war and tyranny, or famine and the effects of climate change, for the most part. If we don’t want a constant flow of people across the planet we have to do more to address the reasons for the migration. I know you don’t care about any of that, because the ****s whose **** you parrot on here don’t care about it. All they want to do is stir up division and hatred between people who have far more in common than the things that divide them. I’m done with trying to reason with you now. I have to keep reading your posts because of my role as moderator, but I won’t bother replying any more, you’re a lost cause.
It's funny isn't it? Whenever a black person gets shot in the US, people over here continually (and rightly) say "well, that's what happens if you don't obey the police and resist them. Why did the do that and what do they expect?" Guess what. This is what happens when you don't obey a police instruction and resist them.
