There's nothing more going on other than a bit of media noise. The Guehi situation is probably the Maddison situation all over again.

Fingers crossed - think they have a pretty full squad atm so would require more outgoings even though they clearly would have the funds for either.

Still have Rodri, Kovacic, De Bruyne, Bernardo and Nunez in the CM position and Doku, Savinho, Foden, Bobb, Grealish and Harlaand up infront of them. While probably short a CF City don't like to spend big money - rather find talent and sell for profit like Alvarez - bought for £23m 3 years ago, sold for £81m... jeez.

Think that's probably where we need to expect to head is buying talent doesn't mean it will be here long if the right offer comes and we can reinvest. Hopefully not this summer though as we have a decent squad shaping up.

Works well for Man City in particular cause they can make okay players look like world beaters.

I think it sounds like Guehi will happen. That RW position is the one though. If we are going to have a chance of threatening the top 4 we really need to be dangerous on both flanks. It's not like we had problems scoring last year but it's in those games against direct rivals / big games where we weren't able to give the oppo enough problems to deal with.

I agree mate, but the noise reminds me of the Barella and Maddison lies.

100% agreed - Guehi (or another CB like Tobodio or Thiaw is almost a certainty) and then its that RW position.

Think the balance before with Trippier using Miggy as his personal puppet worked well for a time but both are coming to the end of their powers now and while we've got Tino - and Ashby who I like - ready made replacement for Trippier in the long run, Miggy and Murphy won't strike fear into the oppositions when the lines ups come out on Saturday afternoon.

Weren't they possibly both genuine attempts to sign a player that ended in failure? Barella uninterested in leaving and Inter asking for more than we wanted to spend, and Maddison preferring London life and Spurs. Because a signing fails to happen, doesn't mean that all previous reports of attempts made to sign those players are lies.

I would say you are right that all the noise doesn't guarantee the signing though - Chelsea or similar could easily steam in last minute and take the player.
