Yes please to Sam Johnstone. Much more realistic than Ramsdale and he definitely has had interest in signing for us before (rare ITK moment for me)
I suppose the sell on fee for Alcaraz will be key if the initial fee if it is less than he is valued by Saints.
Really interesting conversation on talkSPORT today about PRS with Stefan Borson. So many still pissing close to the wind. Says big issues coming up with TV Deals stagnating as already happening in France, Germany etc. Premier league clubs also going to have a big issue when the ban comes in on betting company shirt sponsoring being banned in a couple of years as big blue chip companies not interested at current levels. Clubs like Juventus and a couple of others still have no shirt sponsor going into the new season and can see that happening here as well. From what I could make of it Southampton would be better of once the 2022/23 season comes of the 3 year cycle as this is when we spent big money. Last season will have the sales of JWP, Tella and I think Lavia on this years accounts as they were sold after the cut of date of 30/6 2023. Everton still in the **** as if they don’t sell another big player they could possibly be borrowing more money come the Autumn. Said only 4 deals have been done over £25 million and 2 of them are West Ham as still working of the Declan Rice money as was pure profit. Said EVERY Club very conscious of the PRS rules now. **** Show really.
Did he name the 4 deals? Seems very low, off the top of my head I can think of Yoro Onana Anderson Minteh who all went for more than £25m and that is after giving it 30 seconds thought
To be fair I either misheard the figure or he was wrong Think he was making the point that spending is down. Could be because of Euros etc, and the Peterborough chairman still thinks things will ramp up towards the end of August? His big point though, was that clubs are really having to have a clear spending strategy now based a lot more on their incoming transfer monies, rather than just spend spend spend. Like Chelsea who he skated quite badly.
“Better than Crespo, Aguero and Higuain were at the same age” said my Spurs mate. He is an idiot though
