well the club could sign one 'no bother' if they pay over the odds on fees and wages...but we have seen how that usually turns out. i honestly want to see a striker (fit and raring to go) rock up to the club a.s.a.p. and be ready to start on saturday but right now that is looking very unlikely at the very least...we just have to leave it in their hands and hope it is almost sorted.
I think we should just move on, in fact I hope we already have. No chance this is sorted anytime soon.
I would just put a final bid in and tell them take it or leave it, if they reject it they will have an unhappy player taking a wage for doing nothing.
The "even freely" part makes it sound like to me they said he could leave no matter what, which would make sense to why mendy was choosing his destination
Easy to spend someone else’s money. Hopefully they know what they’re doing. KLD’s links in France hopefully give us an edge in this one. Caen’s first match is 17th August. It’s possible part of the wait is whilst they find a suitable replacement.
They brought in 4 strikers in the last Summer window. None of them hit the ground running, but it was a clear strategy by the club to invest in youth. You can't then say they haven't brought strikers in. This time round they are flexing the model to bring in an experienced striker but that costs more, so it makes sense to make sure it's the right one (Stewart) and not some over priced, doesn't want to be here type (Grigg). If it means we wait until 1st Sept then so be it.
