Thanks mate appreciate it. I know people don’t get on, I have argued with members on here in the past, me, smug and saf have all had words, but I’m someone who likes both of them as people. I move past these things. So I get caught in the middle!! I always try to be reasonable and respectful (maybe not so much when people are hyper negative about SAFC, but that’s because I’m a positive person!!) and will remain as such.
whilst i agree that farage is an absolute tosspot, i'm not sure i can let that thinking slide. You give passes to Dianne Abbott and Corbyn and whoever else who are also minted and are not living like the homeless and poor who they are trying to do better for. That's a tory move
Anne widecome on the news blaming Labour for immigration and riots FFS. They've only been in a few weeks. Another bile filled snake. Shouldn't even be given air time.
Difference being though that Farage isn’t doing anything to try and improve the lives of working people. He’s a stockbroker who’s interested in feathering his own nest and cozying up to Trump rather than representing his electorate in Clacton This is the guy who bet against the pound during Brexit, because he had inside info and knew it would tank. A man who excels in making money out of other people’s misery
Ok, I get all that, but who else is doing anything to stop knife crime, tell me that, because from where I'm sitting and not protesting, no one is. No one is despite it being a topic on here for a very long time, even the troubles at the weekend, it appeared to me every single British politician went missing, and it wasn't until Monday morning all those same missing politicians were queueing up to do interviews with the media. When will the next three kiddies be slaughtered, when will the next soldier leaving his barracks be slaughtered, how many more knife fights are we going to see in places like Southend and London. I'm waiting because despite all the recent deaths, no one is still answering and all this recent shower of shhite has done is bury the issue, lost in the hate.... and that's sad mate, because one day it could be your daughter, or my son, or my grandson, your neighbours daughter, and trust me it will come to Cornwall eventually, how many more broken hearts, how many more tears... because the next event like Southport, I will be bringing these comments up again, I don't want excuses or well we can't do this or that, I want fooking answers, that's why they are supposed to be OUR politicians, but until the next death mate... and like with the BLM race riots when people said the looting and violence had to happen to force change, well mate...maybe next time I will be joining a march, but of a more peaceful nature.
I’ve said a few times on here what I think needs to happen to tackle knife crime. And that’s investment into youth services and focused programmes that are proven to reduce knife crime. Tougher sentences for carrying and threatening, with those sentences being with those programmes rather than just locking people away for 20 hours a day and creating another reoffender. Have a look at the post @remembercolinlee made the other day. He provided some links into the schemes that were used in Scotland to reduce knife crime.
Ffs, but it's not me that needs to look at the links, it's for the politicians to get their arse in gear, not next month, not next year or the year after that, they've known about this problem for a very long time, out going parties and incoming parties, Kier even mentioned it in his opening address, that two politicians had died at the hands of knives, but still nowt has been done. People are openly and freely displaying their weapons and nothing is being done, that makes us all vulnerable, because in this country unlike america we are not legally allowed to carry anything to protect ourselves, so our lives and those kiddies lives are at the mercy of the thugs or the deranged. Something has to change, and it needs to change soon, if these riots have taught us anything, there is a lot of angry people out there, and there are even more angry people sitting and waiting....and waiting....until the next death.
I'll tell you what else I find extremly odd, is that we suddenly have the ability to mobilise thousands of officers across the country as a special task force, but we don't seem to have the mobility to put those same officers on in every town and city, tackling knife crime and carrying out continued stop and searches, relentlessly, and I wouldn't care if they stopped me half a dozen times a day, if it got the blades off the street.
This guy got a suspended sentence in 2018 for going into a police station with four knives saying he had plans to rob European owned businesses. Not the sharpest tool in the box.
I’m just pointing you to the links in case you’re interested in finding out more about the programmes that work. I’m not expecting Keir Starmer to be reading Not606 lol But yeah, it’s down to the Politicians to get a handle on this and asap. The immediate things that need implementing are tough sentences for carrying and threatening. The longer term fix is implementing the programmes that reduce wider youth offending and carrying weapons. We’ve seen 15 years of cuts to youth services and a 60% reduction. With loss of youth workers, mentors, support to get kids into education, training, jobs, housing etc. and with that has come a direct correlation with an increase of kids carrying weapons. It’s up to a new Govt to make a start to try and make inroads into this, it’s going to cost money and it’s not going to yield results overnight.
I don't see how any of this can even begin to get off the ground if Keir is not acknowledging it, and blaming everything on far-right....how do you think that sounds to someone like me, it's like a blanket over the problem....blades Keir....far-right....oh ok, he could have at least of accepted there is a problem...like I say mate, I'm not hearing it....it;s been drowned out.
I was listening to somebody talking about the prosecution process and how to get these cases through the courts. He was saying that like in 2011, they will open courts 24/7 and fast track prosecutions. He also said that unlike 2011 there is an increase of smartphones, but a decrease in smart people lol. As most offenders were either filming their offending or had easily accessible messages where they had told people about their intentions to offend. Which is making it easier for the CPS to convict them.
@Quesadaad5 what's happening bro, why you lurking, where you been, just approved your account...if it's you...?
I'm going to guess Quesadaad has locked himself out sometime in June lol... There's about 4 or 5 attempts at creating a new account in the system I just found... Bro you can come out the shadows now....I see you!
Tfb he has. There’s a fair bit in their manifesto about how they plan to tackle knife crime. With regard to what you’re talking about, that’s his response to the rioting, which has **** all to do with preventing knife crime. That’s just mindless thugs who’ve been whipped up online. But I agree, the message is getting drowned out at the moment. Anyway, the info is here if you want to have a look at it https://labour.org.uk/updates/stories/labours-action-plan-to-cut-knife-crime/
