We need a half decent Gk and striker to stand any chance of staying up, unless there will be 3 teams worse than us of course(unlikely).
Be interesting to see what happens in the remainder of this window.

Just listened to Adam Blackmore's transfer update:

- I think Saints want Matt O'Riley and Fabio Carvalho, I don't believe it is one or the other
- O'Riley is happy to come, they've already had that conversation and both parties know the deal
- Celtic are being slow and Saints are getting agitated because they are worried it run too late in August
- O'Riley doesn't have an agent he is only represented by his parents and they have a relationship with RM
- Is the Brighton leak an effort from Celtic to get Saints to move to Celtic's negotiation point? Let's see

Well that's very unusual.

I worked in that space for a couple of seasons, it's more common than you may think - but yes, not the norm. Usually represented by a parent/brother and then they have a trusted family lawyer (and in some cases also a commercial rights advisor) to go over the contracts and ensure everything is questioned and settled properly.

What were you expecting out of interest? This season was always going to be a huge challenge with the squad/manager, that has seemed obvious since mid way through last season I think.

Pretty much this, but I was hoping we’d dig a bit deeper in the market. Still time though. I fear we’ll be relying a lot on camaraderie and team spirit though.

Sounds like negotiations are still on going with Celtic, which is possible.
Brighton now taking the Everton role of getting involved in our targets. Back off beach boys

I couldn’t really see a realistic window where we would stay up “on paper”. I like most of the moves we’ve made but the squad is just poor for this level, and was always going to be really. As you say hopefully we add a bit more quality by the end of the window to maybe give us a chance but we are in for a long season regardless, how long remains to be seen. I can’t really see us being able to get a better squad together than the one we went down with, but as you say teamwork and spirit should hopefully be much better even if the talent isn’t as high and that may see us over line.

Said same earlier tonight. Don't think I’ve ever been so ….. flat. Won’t say negative but just can’t see any positive’s.
I can. We get to blaze through the Championship the following season. To be honest I would rather be a good team in the championship than a really poor team in the premier. Having recently had a heart bypass I think that would be the best strategy for me to live longer. However if we become a poor team in the Championship I won’t rate my chances.

I don’t see this happening at all. After a season of getting pummelled every weekend a team doesn’t drop down a division and suddenly find form. It’s a big rebuild all over again. Best players out, top earners out, a few loans to bridge the quality gap. Probably a new manager to replace the lost faith.
We scraped promotion last time in the best way but Leeds didn’t. No guarantees.
