There's families round mine with a single GCSE between several generations and they say the reason the can't get a job is immigration.

I think the police are going to get defeated in all cities for as long as this goes on, the more arrests and brutality, the more numbers will come out. You're not running out of disaffected working class White men anytime soon.

If that bit of it is actually true, they'll have run out of them Monday morning at 9am

As soon as the first few dozen are sent down for five years the numbers will plummet imo.

The police don't take kindly to being hospitalised and will go after these people ...

... sitting in a police cell, waiting to go before the judiciary, tends to calm people down.

I think you're massively underestimating the feeling on the ground.

The rioters are a fraction of the general population, most people don't walk on the same ground.

Don't tell me those on the street today have taken the day off work ...

... they're bored, stupid and this is a bit of excitement for them.

Hearn is no better, makes the stabbings about religion with no proof and stirs the pot a bit more.

I agree that the people doing crime (burning things, breaking windows, harming police etc) are scumbags, but whatever you want to call what is happening, it is emanating out of dissatisfaction with immigration and the changes the country is going through.

Personally I couldn't see myself taking to the streets because it's not my personality, but if people were being brutalised, maybe I would think differently.

It's important to keep in mind that the government govern by consent and the police, police by consent. We're leaning in the direction where that could change. Look, I think we all want things to calm down, but there must be a will from both sides in order to make that happen.

It's complicated obviously, honestly I think people aren't ready for honest conversations about this, but all of it is built off the back of previous issues. Few of these lads can articulate their problem because they're acting off feeling and instinct.

    Not really mate.

I know that's a common buzzphrase but it's not reality in my opinion ...

... it's like when Sunderland supporters sing 'My taxes paid for your hat' ...

... it might sound funny but it's a bit daft tbh.

At the end of this, which will come, the government will still govern and the police will still police.

These people aren't Nelson Mandela, imprisoned but defiant and there for a just cause ...

... they'll be doing five years wondering why they didn't stay at home having another spliff.

I've got very little time for any claims of 'legitimate concerns' from any who attended these riots this week. Frankly I don't believe it for a second. It's a fig leaf for a desire to commit disorder at best (and racist violence at worst). If someone genuinely has legitimate concerns about immigration there are plenty of avenues available to them. They simply aren't all that arsed though. It's just an easy excuse. Witness that video from Rotherham where some daft old cow was droning on about the 'three p***s that murdered those three girls'. Thick as **** and not actually bothered enough to do something constructive. Happy to turn up at a riot, though.

Wrong. They literally govern with our consent and as a collective we can choose to withdraw that when necessary, it has happened countless times across the world throughout history. Of course nobody hopes for that outcome.

Why on earth would you think that consent would be removed over gov response? The huge majority in this country have absolutely no support for the violent disorder that we've seen. Outside of online echo chambers there is simply no public appetite for this level of disorder to continue - and no justification acknowledged for it. I expect the public will overwhelmingly support a robust response from police and government.

You're mixing up the very real feeling in the country about immigration and a relatively small number of criminals. This is an outlet, a very bad one obviously.
