The issue is mate. He's set a precedent. He's gone 2 years of being as open as a book and since the Rosenior Q&A he's been radio silent. Now this would have likely been fine had it been business as usual but a few things have happened and those looking for answers aren't getting them from the bloke.
The state of the club? From what I an see the club is being run very well. Attendances high as they have been for many years, great food and refreshements, lots of fan events, merchandise selling very well and our reach outside of England is getting bigger thanks to our owner. You're right, none of the other stuff is anything to do with you. If Tim wants to wait for the right player then that is his business. If we go unbeaten in August and September will you still be worried about 'the state of the club'? Be honest you're just gutted the club have stopped leaking info about transfers, which in fact is a huge positive.
Just wondering if there might be a signing or two due today that might just take the heat out of things a little?
Our only way of telling if the club is being run well is when the next set of accounts come out. We know we we're losing money weekly it depends how bad it was
I agree with you but two years ago I would have done things that now make me cringe. And 5 years ago even more so. People have whispered in my ear at various times in my life and told me to conduct myself better or do things differently. I reckon there has been a reality check of what going in Botanic and spouting actually does to the chances of the manager getting his targets without paying over the odds. One of my good mates is an agent and owners like Acun were a dream for him. Once they know the club have made it public they want a player there are tons of tricks to get that fee bumped up from all angles. Acun needed to shut his trap a bit and he is doing it thankfully.
i remember those days well, you could pin him down sometimes and he usually gave you a tale of pending doom whilst wringing his hands like an old fashioned money lender, but did we believe him? Myself and a mate once bumped into him at the Mill in Skidy, he was sat enjoying a meal with an old lady, we said quite loudly, 'probably trying to re-write her will' He saw us, did a double take, pushed his plate aside and left. Didn't get the chance to pin him down that day. Once pinned down Buchanan outside Notts Countys ground too, after a league cup game ( we lost) He spoke to a couple of us for over an hour, with his minder glaring at us whilst looking at his watch. Every word he said turned out to be a lie. But we believed him on the night.
My Dad was. I found Martin with tears in his eyes after his last game at Boothferry park sat on his own on the steps of the stand. I went to give him a hug and knocked his glasses off and watched them bounce down the concrete steps!! That moment he was having took an unexpected twist ha ha
Very different times, I miss how bad it was sometimes as it felt much more personal knowing everyone in the lounges and the staff by name.
You're aware we have a game in 5 days? You really are going out of your way to defend everything the club does. It is ok to admit that we've had a poor window. Our manager seems to think so.
Announcement re stepping back and concentrating more on feners....Tan to be the man moving forward Edit...that's just my opinion not what I've heard
Great - so long as Tan then appoints a Director of Football so that he isn't doing everything himself.
This is most likely what i expect Then the love the club The city And you fans And good players will come
Yes, that scenario would see Acun be a background owner and Tan becoming Chairman, with Ebru Atasav Tahranci being vice chairman.
