Hi been a reader for a few Months but just read this on the bbc606 site and thought i would ask for you views - a Cardiff fan has said Oli is not playing as he in injured and think's Gerrard should not play for us - as he put "only fair" what do you think, i think Gerrard should definately play.
To be fair, I don't think it was a serious question, his post had a 'running away man' emoticon at the end! Both teams agreed the players could play in every game, it's not our problem if Oli gets injured, Gerrard should obviously play.
I think it's tough luck. If they didn't want us to play him against them, then, they should have put a clause in the loan deal to that effect
He'll be up for this big ant gerrard. He seems to get better with every game.Really hope it can be made permanent.
I wouldn't fear Bellamy anyway, watching him when we played Man City that time i thought he was past his best then.
Doesn't Gerrard get a big pay rise in his contract if Cardiff go up? So play well and prove a point or play badly and increase your chances of getting stacks of cash next year! Hobbs and Chester will be fine for one week...
i loved gerrards goal celebration on tuesday..some loan players seem like they dont care that much..cant accuse him of that!
Can't find anything about Oli being injured anywhere apart from this, probably just muck stirring. Atleast i hope so... put a cheeky bet on oli and gerrard to score!
Aw damn, just seen this on the beeb website 'The only sour note for Cardiff, who strengthened their Premier League push, was the suspected knee injury suffered late on by Olofinjana as the Nigerian midfielder was forced off and replaced by Jon Parkin.' Whether or not either of them played, i still reckon we have enough quality to win the game. And what's 'only fair' is the terms that were agreed.
Gerrard coming on a season long loan to us was always an odd one to me. Ever present for Cardiff last season and a crowd favourite. So what went wrong with Dave Jones to loan one of his best players to a rival? Heard he came back pre season a tad overweight but surely must be more in it than that.
'Cardiff's on-loan Hull midfielder Seyi Olofinjana is permitted to play against the Tigers, but is struggling to overcome a knee problem in time.' The BBC preview against the Leicester game said Chopra was very much a doubt, yet played. Albeit lasting around 50 minutes before being replaced. Personally if he's not fit, I have no issues with Gerrard playing and would give Jones another 90 minutes to watch him play.
I'd rather play against Oli than Parkin, wherever they play him. He might be a pie monster, but he knows how to find the net and I expect him to score today.
Parkin was one of those City monster munchers which we always had.. Whitehurst, Francis, Alcide, Burgess..human battering rams.. our current strikeforce are more mobile and skillful.
