I never really understood the obsession with some Brits bashing the empire. People act like we were the only empire to ever exist. I’m sure the Turks don’t sit there whinging about the ottoman empire still to this day. As you mentioned I also believe we done more good in the end.
Britain is being punished with mass migration because of the British Empire. -Smug I pointed out that Ireland is also suffering, and responding, to the same conditions as the UK. Ireland famously didn't have an empire.

What’s my views on Hitler? I’m guessing that will be a very pointed question from you, designed to get a particular response that you would then go on to expose as hypocrisy or similar. But I’ll answer it anyway. I think he probably started off as a very idealistic person whose perception, based on his experiences of WW1, was that Germany was hard done by by other European powers after the end of the conflict with the restrictions placed upon the country. He was blamed everyone initially but eventually the Jews in particular for everything that had taken place. As a result of this, against the will of other countries he built up Germanys armed forces, took over the country on a nationalist popular ticket then set about trying to make Germany a power again and invaded Poland. And that’s where it all started to go wrong. In short he became a demagogue rather than an effective leader of a nation which is what he thought he was.
Bolton put in an order for extra police dispersal powers. Not sure why others haven’t done this. It seems like we need it in many other places.

I'd agree. Need to probably start considering mass scale intervention before mobs just take over and mass casualties happen.
Absolutely mate, these police officers shouldn't have to cope with this level of violence ... ... the army need to be issued tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannon. Mass arrests need to take place and people kept in detention centres to be processed.
