Morning Gents, Firstly, go easy with me, after being happy just to read the exchanges in recent months I'm joining the gang and posting for the 1st time. If we assume that sooner (please god) or later SB is going to get the boot, there are realistically only a small number of managers we could turn to unless we go down a route that no-one could predict such as taking a gamble on a Manager from a lower league. With each round of games the pressure mounts on the likes of AVB, Keen and McCarthy. MON, Hughes etc are going to be of interest to these clubs as well, another reason to act quickly?
Welcome St Ives... All guessing games at the moment, a few names keep cropping up, but will it really be one of the usual suspect?
Cyprus? Living in Hayle? I didn't know there was another Mackem down here, I work in Hayle, live just outside of PZ, do you go to any games at the SOL?
Nah mate. Used to have a season ticket Roker Park and first five years of the SOL. Unfortunately or fortunately I've now got four little un's so I'm afraid trips home are a bit to pricey these days. Where abouts in Hayle do you work mate? Lived here for six months since leaving the RAF. Very nice part of the world to bring up kids. If only I could find a bloody job...
There will always be managers under pressure/out of work, after all there are only 20 teams in the PL, not everyone can have a job. Maybe they are hoping Owen Coyle gets sacked first, then we sack Bruce, and we get Coyle, so no compensation to pay Bolton, who have Spurs away at the weekend, never easy. This is me just making **** up, not ITK at all, but you never know. (just hope they are not waiting for Steve Kean)
Now look, I do the Bruce out stuff, you do the Bruce in, right? Lol As for the OP, 100% spot on and I have been saying this for several weeks now. Blackburn and Bolton would offer Hughes in particular an easy option to stay in the NW where his home is and Martin o Neill a closer place of work from his midlands home than us. I've just got a niggling feeling Bruce is going to limp along now for the next few weeks and be given a few Bob to bring in a winger and a striker in January. I think if it was going to be The sack it would be after the Wigan result. If he has survived that, then only more terrace unrest v Blackburn on a similar scale will force the issue. Just a gut feeling mind.
