Maybe I need to forgive Robert’s for last season. Hope he keeps up this standard. So much better if we’re a danger down both flanks.

Really pleased to see Luke get the plaudits. Lots of positives from this game.

Great support from both sets of supporters ... Mag shirts dotted around the ground but no reports of any deaths ... very tough opposition who were up for it .... Roberts looked more like himself but Clarke didn't quite ... Browne is a good signing ... Mayenda is coming on but a bit slowly ... Aouchiche is going to be a real player for someone, hope it's us ... Patterson as cool as usual ... O'Nien MOTM against difficult opponents and Hume had a really tough day against Enrique.

Enjoyable game and a 1-0 win at Cardiff <laugh>

Mags at a Sunderland game?! Surely not they don’t care about us I’ve heard!

sounds like plenty positives, Haway the wizards, just sorted my tickets for the Burnley game

That's happened to me twice and neither was a police dog ...

... both really hurt and both made me cry <wah>

Police dogs are no joke like! Wouldn't like a bite off one.

    Long story incoming!

I was in the military police when I was in my early 20's and when I was out in Germany they arranged a day for us to go and meet with the German Police for a look at what at some of there stuff. The Dog and Horse units were one of them that we met with.

They were both really interesting, German police are armed and the dog unit guys who had the dogs that were trained to bite said removing the muzzle is so serious they would call emergency doctors to the scene as they were doing so as the damage they could do was life threatening arteries in legs and upper arms I think?

We did a exercise with them still muzzled where we all stood in a line like we were rioting and were shouting and being aggressive towards the dogs. Only one of the dogs was a proper attack dog the others were drugs dogs etc.. the drugs dog jumped towards me as I got close and as it did I put up my hand to block it and it just bounced through my hand for fun and smashed full force into my chin causing me to bite through my own lip <laugh>, what a ****ing hit it gave me and that was the drugs dog who was the least aggressive I was told <laugh>.

But these pricks don't think about that. It's just "funny", "banter", "taking the piss out of the Mackems" and that they're dead clever and funny doing it, not thinking it's like playing Russian roulette. One day you do it and it's not the reasonable fans there, but a local radge packet (or group of) off their tits on something and you get a kicking. Honestly it's only a question of time before it happens, in my opinion.

Must have been a significant moment for Dreyfus having his dad's old club play his bunch of reprobates and for them to go toe to toe with them.

He'll be proud of the lads tonight and the choices he's made I imagine.

Yes. This shouldn't be underestimated imo, very brave call from the young man. Especially away from home.

I was thinking that and it set me off looking at some my Dad's old photos from his time in the DLI.

To have a true football man, running your club, is rare these days ...

... Sunderland are blessed to have such a decent man on the front line.

We could've been pasted by a CL side but he had faith in the Lads, fair play to him.

Fair enough mate, with Paul I assume.

I'm flying to Stansted and going from Waterloo to Fratton on the train ...

... Cris the gardener, who I think you've net, is jumping on at Haslemere and really looking forward to it.

We'll all be on the same train after most likely.

All I want, in pre-season friendlies, is a good team spirit ...

... coming back twice is encouraging imo.

As you say we're not far off being a very effective side.
