We needed a new team anyways and we had a lot of deadwood to shift alongside the two big sales we've made. I think we've actually done decent business on shipping players out. It's the number of replacements we still don't have in place that's a growing concern. It's early days, but so far the players we have brought in do seem to be of a good quality at least. We still need players in just about every position other than RB and we need as many of them as possible through the doors at the earliest opportunity.
Imagine sacking Rosey to go after Walter only to stiff him with this squad and season preparation. Amateurish.
We were told that Walter's style was totally different than Rosenior's but other than not passing the ball across the back 4 all the time there isnt much difference. There is still too much of an attempt to put defenders under pressure by passing to them in the first 15 yards Otherwise we do seem to want to get the ball forward faster and sometimes we did that with Liam I dont know why we try to waste our corners
I actually think its visually far more incisive and is currently being done with probably 2/3rds (if that) of a first team and not a preferred first team at that, supported by academy lads. If you cannot see the progression I'm shocked. Given the right personnel I honestly feel we would be a real force. Lets hope we get the chance to see it come together.
Trouble is will he be given the players to make it work? After the years of rubbish .i have seen over the last 61 years I don’t get too uptight about these things but am genuinely cheesed off for some reason though I have seen far worse than what will be coming this season.
I think Acun (credit to him) has raised expectations for himself, but this window has been nothing short of negligence. I think he expected to be promoted by now, and may have lost interest, I’m sure if the season goes better than expected though he’ll be back on the train to take credit.
There's no may about it.... He's got bigger and better ( in his eyes ) to concentrate on. I wouldn't be shocked to see a sale explored in the near future
Well lets all cheer on Lille next week and hope they get dumped out of the Champions League... that might re focus his mind..
**** off, a joke's a joke but sod a pantomime. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Honestly, after the recent owners, I just hope ( if it does happen ) we get someone who wants to make gradual improvements to the squad, improve the quite frankly piss poor training set up, keep improving the youth set up and don't see a quick profit... Anyway I'm probably getting way ahead of myself, but the whispers are getting louder.
Once the initial excitement of mourinho and they fail to qualify for the cl for the 14th year in a row Im sure itll wear off
