It seems @Ponders Revisited has decided to leave the forum, presumably because he regarded my warning about deleting any future racist content from the news thread as a personal attack on him. It was not. It was a message to everyone. But I know he was a well respected and liked member. Far better respected and liked than I am. That's fair enough. This isn't a popularity contest. If I didn't have the responsibility I would be gone already. But I won't be cast as some tin-pot dictator throwing my weight around here. Anybody who wishes me to quit as moderator or quit this forum, just let me know on this thread and I'm gone. I am no longer a part of this community or apparently share any of it's values. @Dick Plumb1 already has moderator status, he can look after the place either temporarily or permanently if he wishes. It's up to you. Just say the word and you'll never hear from me again.
Update: Another member has just quit, comparing me to reams on ITTV. That's as good as the word that I asked for in my previous message. Good luck with this forum in the future. It has been an honour to look after it for the time that I did.
@lardiman You have presided over something of a disaster here, and somehow managed to lose 33% of our membership in the last 10 mins ? Even Reams after 8 pints never achieved a rate like that. @Ponders Revisited and @Typical part 2 are both excellent posters that we cannot afford to lose, and you are also a much valued member. I suggest we all move on - maybe lock that thread.

I am really sorry to hear that Ponders and Typical have both gone. Take a bit of time to think about it @lardiman nobody on here wants to lose you. You are the bedrock of this Forum. If you decide to go I will aim to moderate this forum as fairly as I can.
It wouldn't be right for Lardiman to leave on my account. He's been around a long time and obviously does a fine job of moderating. I'll head off to another forum instead of upsetting the apple cart over here. It's a shame, as I was looking forward to posting some views on the actual football. Trouble is, if you continue to butt heads with someone, it becomes a bit of a drag for all involved. So, for the sake of keeping the peace, I'll slip away into the night. Go easy.
There is a reason why Charlton Life rightly banned political threads. Lets lock that stupid thread, it’s cost this forum 40% of its membership since full time today, and get 606 back to what its best at - moaning about the club & taking the piss out of ITTV.
Ponders, you are making this sound like the Bobby Ewing shower scene in Dallas. @lardiman will wake up from his slumbers in a few months time and wander into the bathroom, to find you in the shower. 606 needs you and @lardiman , just close that stupid thread.
I just hope Typical makes a return. And Lardiman, of course. I'd like to get into the football banter and leave all the bile and vitriol behind. I'm actually quite a gentle soul.
