Im not sure but he must have something about him to be playing for England U17s and he's obviously a player that would have been an asset for us in a year or 2. He obviously wants to leave but its sickening after developing talent as young kids and then having to watch them leave. Its like that young lad Everton signed from us last year who is meant to be a really top talent aswell
Personal Opinion: - BTA is an athletic forward. Not the most prolific but can score goals, would’ve probably been a good signing for our play style. - Vipotnik looks like he has a lot of potential, ready for now, I’m not sure. Would’ve been a good signing but to lead the line every game to me is taking the same risks as last season - Moore just doesn’t suit our playstyle imo, not one I personally wanted - Gallagher ive never got the interest with. Is a nuisance but not an amazing goal scorer. Be surprised if he does well at Stoke - Langstaff another huge risk. Nothing about his game except goals. You take away those easy chances and time on the ball in the championship compared to league two and NL, as well as physicality of defenders, I’m not sure how well he does - Celar, I don’t know too much about if im honest My point being we have no idea how quality these signings are going to be for the most part. If we go to what we’re linked with: - Ugbo has performed at this level - Mendy is now 30 years old and established, his game is apparent and is less of a risk than others (still a risk involved as with every transfer)
Unfortunately the position we’re in as a championship club now. If they want to force a move they’ll just see out their time and move to a PL club who are willing to spend a few mil pocket money on the compo. Money has ruined the game because that’s all it’s about to some kids, money and ego. Look at me I play for Arsenal and I’m on £5k a week, but they’ll actually playing for their u21s and will be for the next 3 years before being released whilst other lads like Rigg put their career first. Clearly has good advice off his parents too.
I’m not disagreeing mate, most of them I thought weren’t good enough for us either just staying that they’ve been mentioned in this thread as options and other teams have spent money bringing them in. So how do we find it SO difficult? Ugbo is available, Troyes want £2.5m what’s hard about giving them it if we want him? It’s less than a few on that list we deem not good enough.
Player side is probably the difficult thing with ugbo. But I’ll be keeping an eye this weekend feel it could move quick
Bainbridge to Kilmarnock on loan confirmed https://x.com/AcademyOfLight/status/1819387725843161280?t=Iuk30RYdZYNcSSS6pNK0eQ&s=19
I think thats a cracking move for the lad. Hopefully plays many games, it’ll do him the world of good.
Good to see that Ugbo is apparently "enthused" by the Sunderland project and could be happy to move here if it's all agreed
Expecting hemir to be on his way soon. I was hoping he’d get a loan abroad in the view to make it a permanent. He’s not suited to English football
