I wouldn’t think for a minute he’d live in Middlesbrough, with his wages I’m sure he’ll find somewhere to live not too far away

I stayed there with work for a few days, ran a bath and the water was yellow. On the plus side the locals were fantastic and I even met a Stainsby girl, if you know your Chris Rea

Explained further up, thought we was talking about Matty James. Error on my part as I was reading this as well as OTIB flicking between them and got mixed up.

My Aunt and Uncle lived in that part of the world in the late 1970's.

Middlesbrough itself is a hole. There is no other way to describe it, sorry to the good folk of the 'boro but it's true !

But just outside are absolutely beautiful towns and villages on the North Yorkshire moors and dales. Quite stunning scenery and suitable for any well paid footballer.

wage bill was supposed to be the stumbling block ............ so we get rid of a lower paid player TC AND BRING IN 2 THAT ... are likely both on at least 3 -4+ times what TC on [ maybe even more!

MIDDSBRO could if they wished revise their offer [ mainly achievements and conditons ] to reflect £7m??? ... or ............ this would bring in an initial sum closer to expected £5/6m for him!

If he's right footed I presume it's competition/cover for Vyner and Tanner.

Similar cover on both sides then.

Dickie is right footed and could play right side but for me he's a natural CH, a bit like Shaun Taylor.
Dickie played left side for most of last season because of injury to others.
I'd have thought Atkinson and Roberts will fight for the left this season and yes Dickie could naturally play right side.
But I have feeling Manning wants the option of a back 3, thus Dickie centrally with Vyner right side.
I'm not saying it's going to happen, McNally hasn't even signed, I'm just putting forward a possible reason why LM might sign McNally.

I tend to agree that LM might like a back 3 of CB when everyone is fit. Pring/Roberts & Mcrorie/Tanner are perhaps better as WB to give us some options.
Any of Atkinson, Dickie, Naismith, Vyner, and McNally if he comes in would suit that logic and he a good back 3 with some cover.

This deal sounds just about right for me as we need to get rid of a moaner who clearly doesn't respect Bristol City for what they have done for his career. It was clear early on that Manning was not prepared to have him with the first team squad due to the bad vibes surrounding him and his attitude and so, if this deal gets across the line, he will be gone leaving a bad taste around Ashton Gate for which there was no need. <wah>

Morning Inver, I have a different view.
It's his life and chosen profession.
He, presumably feels his career would benefit a move from us and that's a decision I respect.
Nobody on Earth would tell me where I wanted to go in my job. Others didn't know me or my thoughts why I wanted to move on.....it was none of their business.
Perhaps Conway felt Manningball didn't suit his style, who knows, only Conway. Certainly he burst on the scene under Pearson who's style moved the ball forward quicker. Whether us fans agree with that doesn't matter, it's Conway's decision to make.
I wish Tommy Conway all the very best.
