I didn’t realise I’d posted this on the saints stuff rather than here but I don’t believe we were ever going to have the same bid that Leeds made accepted for Piroe. The hint is in their demands for Wood

I also don’t think he is the out and out striker we were trying to get. Doesn’t seem to have been played there for Leeds. He has been played kind of similarly to how we have played Armstrong at times. Which I believe it was mentioned as something Martin said about the two

I'm still keen to see if we can use him to help us to sign Clarke from Sunderland. Even if it's a loan deal where we continue to pay all of Stewart's wages (not ideal, I appreciate).

 

The Clarke rumours have gone quiet full stop. Last I saw was his preference was Ipswich but that was awhile ago

 

Not totally sure of my facts here, very happy to be corrected but isn’t this a completely common problem for players who never turn in a proper shift? Perry Groves from Arsenal, Austen Delgado, and of course the panic £20m on Carrillo, though that was down to lack of talent more than ongoing injuries?
