I apologise, I should have added “if”. I was referring specifically to the Ryan Kent rumours but can equally apply to the names we’ve been linked with. The point was more that if you sell a player for that amount and buy someone for significantly less how is it considered an upgrade?

The usual rumour mill. Seems to have legs though as he started his medical this morning and was supposed to fly to U.S to meet the West Ham squad for pre season this afternoon. It's not been announced yet, he's not got on a plane to America. Problems with the contract and fee not agreed with Leeds yet. Have a bigger fish entered the race. Liverpool perhaps? Whatever it is, there seems to be a delay.

Not particularly here. Leeds social media sites, what’s app groups etc. it’s pathetic and follows every player we sell. They’re worshipped while with us and when sold suddenly become a far poorer player with numerous faults

We got relegated and we faltered at the end of last season, every player is replaceable, and at this level more so. Every player will have strengths and weaknesses. Last season we didn’t know which Leeds team was going to show up, the one that beat Leicester and Ipswich twice or the team that played against QPR. We often had trouble beating teams who parked the bus, we were missing a creative spark. We could have tried to take a gamble and start the season with virtually the same 11 or we could make some changes, we’re making those changes and that’s a good call as far as I’m concerned. Up front we’ve gone from Gnonto, James, Summerville for the wide places to Gnonto, James, Aaronson and around £30m for new additions, that’s not bad. If we’d signed Aaronson for £20m this season we’d be ecstatic. Midfield we have lost Kamara but gained Rothwell and Ampadu (back), defence lost Gray and gained Bogle and we also have Wober back. Kamara, Gruev and even throw Gray in there, it didn’t work against parked teams. We have lost a ton of dead wood, we have Joseph looking on fire preseason. I think the balance of the squad is looking better
