These conversations prove how exciting this signing is. Make a signing of a striker for £10m who has zero goals and assists in his last season.
They must see something in him. Will hopefully prove astute business, despite being seemingly underwhelming.
Gordon has similar stats at Everton and look what happens when players are in better sides mate. He's been bought because they'e seen a raw talent that they believe they can develope on the training ground. This kind of buy is essential because the owners have to grow the club within the rules.
I’m saying it’s an underwhelming transfer given what we are trying to achieve. He may well be the next Gordon. If it’s 10m fine. If it’s 17m I question the logic.
Most reports suggest £10 plus add ons. So if it does rise to £15m-£17m it will be because of appearances etc so fair enough.
Shef Utd fans seem almost unanimously disappointed that he's going and united in claiming he's going to become a very good player. One went as far as to say that he was going to be phenomenal.
Hope they sign more young gems personally... no point paying big money... get out there and do your job better. Cb and the squads looking stronger
They obviously have seen he’s very much like Isak. I can’t really comment on his playing credentials as have never seen him (or heard of him) It’s odd though that we can’t find any up and coming young strikers like we’ve found for other positions (though I wonder if clubs tie those down to contracts as early as possible)
A lot of us have been saying that a young back up striker is also on the wish list, so this is that. Just hoping we are still in the market for both a RW and CB who are 'first team starter' material.
Can’t complain - this is a third choice CF and is a huge step up on….’simply not having one. Still need the RCB and RW sorted but it’s an area we now have good cover for the injuries we tend to get.
