    A man re-identifying as a woman doesn’t make him a woman.

This nonsense needs calling out as wrong

The sight of the Italian woman fighter being punched hard in the face and having her nose broken this morning should make many people, especially the Algerian man and the IOC, hang their heads in shame.

    It makes absolutely sickening viewing.

The IOC had been warned multiple times by boxing organisations that the Algerian had a significant and potentially very dangerous strength advantage.

It’s a pernicious ideology that has allowed this situation to occur.

Just watched it, and it's pretty horrible The Algerian has the build of a man, and it's a relief when the Italian pulls out. Wasn't there a South African runner with a similar condition recently, ie exceptionally high levels of testosterone? It's probably a genetic condition related to the adrenal gland, rather than a man calling himself a woman.

Setting aside for a minutes the rules, or the issues about basic fairness, you’ve got to question the mentality of the Algerian man.

He is knowingly going into a boxing ring in the full knowledge that he will be punching women who are much weaker than he is.

He/she has apparently passed through male puberty. The IOC are putting female boxers in danger by their stance. The Italian has been very dignified in her response. The Algerian team need to sit down and shut up, the situation is positively gruesome.

Not the world, just the human race. I think the IOC must have decided that since the bloke was a real cvnt that made him female.

Touching back on to the events with the Algerian geezer in the boxing, I have just seen a clip of women's judo.
The Brazilian beat somebody from France, she was bigger than @A WUM called Hawtrey <yikes>
Perhaps she could put up a good fight with the Algerian<laugh>

The 10,000 metres final at 8.20. I love watching the tactical battle.
Then the way they sprint at the end......amazing

The IOC is allowing the Algerian male to fight another woman in the ring today.

Barry McGuigan has expressed fears for the safety of the women concerned.

    She is not a male.

This is not a transgender story.
She was born female and is registered as female in every legal sense.

I understand the problem is to do with testosterone levels.
If they are too high then of course there is a good case for her not to be allowed to compete.
That would be true of any other woman.

But the tone of this debate looks a lot to me like transphobia.
Calling her a man, and jokingly using the personal pronoun "it" to describe her
That is very unpleasant, dehumanising and mocking.

If the IOC has got this wrong then they deserve criticism.
But why take such delight in persecuting a minority - even mistakenly?
To use one of your phrases seen recently, I don't think this is worthy of you.
