Sorry but if Martin or the club need this game to know we need a new 1st choice GK then we are ****ed. There’s nothing to be learnt from this that we haven’t known for literally years.
Agreed. I'd be very worried if they're only learning it from this game. I couldn't care less about the result or the performance tonight - it's a pre-season match. But I do care about us signing a new keeper and a new striker before the transfer window shuts.
Of course I am not watching, there is Olympics and cricket on, and I am too tight to pay to watch it, they are obviously not treating it as a serious game, so why should I be bothered?
think the team is now... Saints: McCarthy; Sugawara, Harwood-Bellis, Bednarek, Stephens; Smallbone, Downes, Aribo; Dibling, Armstrong, Edozie
Well, hopefully tonight has reinforced the need for further signings, particularly at both ends of the pitch.
If they are just treating it as a fitness run, charging me the price of a pint for admission is a bit much! Immediate thoughts: McCarthy is terrifying - for the wrong reasons. The new defenders might work well with someone experienced but they aren't ready without that. Sulemana is scared to play football. SAA and TD are good options off the bench - but tonight they were carrying too much of the creative weight of the game. Manning can't play centrally. Sugewara looked good. Edozie needs to back up his skill with more end product. McCarthy is terrifying.
