Looked it up: For this, the third Olympic golf competition since the sport's readmission, the only players missing from the top 10 are two Americans who were ineligible because there are a maximum four other compatriots above them in the rankings. The top fifteen golfers in the world are eligible for the Olympics, with a cap of four players per country. In addition, countries without two or more players in the top fifteen are allowed to send two eligible players based on world rankings. That explains it.
Aye, didn't know the selection rules to be honest. In that case McIntyre is maybe a wee bit unlucky not to have made it, obviously the cut off for selection was weeks ago but he’s now 16th in the world and above Fitzpatrick so with better timing he could have made it.
Or alternatively if that rat bag McIlroy had played for GB then going by those rules they would have 2 players in the top 15(him and Fleetwood) and be allowed an extra 2 players
How are you watching the golf? I don’t see it on anywhere. I thought would maybe get it on bbc iplayer, that's how i’ve watched the tennis this week, but don’t see the golf.
After saying that its just came on bbc main coverage of the olympics, but I assume won’t be for long and they will cut away to show other things
Not watching it,at work!I've been switching between BBC and Eurosport for the last week,not at home so don't know if it's on,Discovery+ would probably have it as they have they the rights for the Olympics(Warner Bros) and have multiple channels showing everything. ps just heard RTE(Irish telly) are showing it but that's probably not much use to you.
Got to see about 10 minutes of it on bbc before they went to rowing. Hoping at least on sunday can see a good bit of the final round. Good start for Conners by the way. And on the rowing, some good chances for medals. GB just won bronze in the birds double sculls. A few more finals coming on now, Ireland going in the mens double
