Don't really do ratings but i can tell you that Danny Fox is head and shoulders above Harding in class and technique,in my humble opinion of course.

I'm not going to rate everyone but I will review. I would say Lallana was our best player going forward first half. He was the only shining light in the first half in terms of attacking play. The top two were ineffective and very lazy, neither closed the ball down and Guly missed a hatful of chances before he scored (which incidentally he almost blew that chance as well after a great header across from Lambert). The thing that really annoys me about Guly is how he won't challenge 50-50s and in particular 50-50s in the air. We seemed solid at the back apart from Harding looked the weak link (understandable as he's not the first choice LB and hasn't had many opportunities this season).

I thought we were over-run and poor throughout in the middle of the park. Hull dominated us in the middle. The passing in particular was abysmal. This was highlighted when Hull City went down to 10, it made no difference to the game. If anything it looked like we had 10 men for the last 10 minutes, especially when they had the ball. I thought in particular the stand out poorness from Hammond and Schneiderlin came in the last 10 minutes (Cork was also poor first half but this really highlighted it for me ). Hull went to 3 at the back and had pushed over to the left side. Rosenoir (who I thought had a great game) went to RCB from RB and they had no RB at all. We had a player (couldn't tell who it was) standing at LW for much of the last 10 who never got the ball. We kept trying to force the play down the right and through De Ridder which I thought was very very poor vision from the midfield. We really need Chaplow back asap imo

Richardson provided us great width and had a great game in both defence and attack I thought, he was my man of the match as well as Lallana. The Centre backs were very solid through out and as usual Fonte passed the ball very well. Kelvin was very unlucky with their goal, a good initial save.

Yeh don't get me wrong,he done well and is a good player to have if needed but tonight just showed me how much Danny Fox was a brilliant and shrewd signing.

I don't understand how people are giving Guly 7/10's, he lost the ball, didnt challenge in the air, and didnt even break into a jog for the 10 mins before he was substituted.
Harding offers something that Fox doesnt... energy, he bombs up and down the wing. He doesn't have the stevie-me ball that fox does; but i dont think it is a coincidence that when harding plays (and overlaps), lallana has a better game. lallana was our best player today and i think harding played a massive part in this, Rosiner is a good rb, and the two of them together neutralised his attacking intent.
Barnard and steve made a big difference in energy levels that seemed to be lacking in the first half. spiderman is cultured, but he offers nothing in the way of hassling the opposition like chappers or steve.
ps, steve really cant tackle, he just seems to run full whack into the player with the ball, very entertaining to watch!

Poor turnout from the crowd!! 22,900 isn't very good when the club had won 20 on the trot at home should be about 28000+ IMO

He's always our worst player. He just shouldn't be a footballer.

He isn't up to this level. Defensively he's ok, at best, he costantly gets caught out of position. Going foward he hampers Lallana's game massively as he takes all the space away from him. Rosenior had Lallana in his pocket all game due to this.

He's an adequate...decent player at this level, percisely because he really wants to be a footballer. Credit to him. There's a theory about Peter Crouch, that he's affectionally viewed upon (primarily at international level where is arguably above his skill level, although it's probably the deceptive awkwardness still) as he represents the fan fantasy of being able to play out on the pitch. Harding in some ways you might think... "if I really wanted to be a footballer I would be better than Dan." His touch, distribution and positional play are all arguably weaknesses, and cause anxiety for some viewers...but he is most defiantly more than the sum of his parts, somehow :)

if he shouldn't be a footballer, it is interesting that he has managed to sneak into the starting line-up of the best team in the championship about 10 times... If you have it in for a player, at least open your eyes and admit when they have done well.
He supported Lallana, and kept Mclean under wraps (which is no mean feat!)

On Harding - I refer the Man Utd FA Cup game. Had their midfield in his pocket. Shouldn't be a footballer? Some people need someone to slag off I suppose.

Anyway, anyone slagging off Guly, standby. If I was in charge it would be a bannable offense (still waiting for my Guly Appreciation Thread sticky...)
