This could be quite a big blow whichever division we play in

    http://www.hullcity-mad.co.uk/news/...summer_exit_from_hull_city_649944/index.shtml

"Robert Koren is set for a summer exit from Hull City – with German club Nuremberg poised to make a move.

Midfielder Koren moved to Hull from West Brom last year and he was watched by Italian side Chievo late last year.

Chievo wanted to sign the Slovenian in the January transfer window but talks between the Italians and Hull broke down.

Nuremberg have since registered their interest in the 30-year-old and will make a £1m bid in the summer."

I personally wouldn't like to see this happen, but I have a lot of faith in Nigel and im sure he will do right by us what ever happens.

I think they're confusing FM2011 with real life. Those two always seem to come after Koren by January on that.

A lot depends on which league we are in next season.
NP seems to be rather adept at keeping players he wants, feel sure if he wants him - we'll keep him.
Our problem seems to be off loading the high-earning/not-required players.
They will return - what are we to do with Ghilas / McShane / Kilbane?

I think tht problem is caused by the players concerned not being worth what they are paid. No one else wants them at their current wages.

Hmmm... It's a strange one, I hope not, personally he's one of my favourite players and has both created and scored goals this season however our squad is one of the best simply in the Championship but it's what happens on the pitch that counts. I was surprised with what happened with West Brom as I thought he was one of the best players playing for them. If he was to play central I would be tempted to make him captain however if we purchased another CB on a permanent they would get the armband or even Mannone - I realise Koren sometimes doesn't over commit to tackles and doesn't always shout but I think influences the gameplay in a positive way and a clever footballing mind.

From what I can gather Killer is playing well for Huddersfield, and due to his deferral of wages from 1 yr to 2 yrs is 'only' on 10k a week so could very possibly move for a free, as for Ghilas and Macca....well who knows, if we go up Macca would be good back up for RB and CB as we'll need a bigger squad and will be able to cover his wages as for Ghilas not a clue

Will he have to have a trial at Nuremberg first?

I like most really believe in Big Nige but not blindly. I really think Koren is class and that West Brom dropped a bollock not taking him up with them. I feel he would be suited to the prem a lot more than this league with a little extra time on the ball.
It could be a money thing and then I would support the club in not keeping him.

I wouldnt want him to leave but he can frustrate me sometimes his work rate isnt the best ive seen players just skip by him and him not look to botherd i think thats why he cant hold down his favoured position in the middle.
On the other hand he can do nothing for 80-90 mins then pop up with a winning goal

Also have to remember he is 31 and we got him for free. If we can push up to £1.5m i'd probably accept it. Would allow us to have 2 out and out wingers and still have the 2 hard working midfielders in the centre.

I hope this is pure speculation. Hasn't delivered his usual high standard in the past few weeks, but only because he's out of position on the wing. Still the best technical player we have in my opinion, and a very useful asset whatever league we'll be in next season

One of our best players in my opinion, would be gutted if he did go, even if it was for a decent amount of money.

Gah! I hope not! this would be sod's law...only ever bothered getting 3 players names on the back of shirts before and as soon as I do, they're gone within a year... Geo big Jan and now Koren. Might go back to not getting anyone on them.
