The only thing I can think is that the gaffer wants us to play that way and he's confident he'll have the players in to do it, so he's getting the team used to playing that way

 

do you think he plans giles to play higher up or its just a stop gap with whats available

That’s just perception because your screen is too small, I’m watching on an 85” tv and it was definitely either a meter in or a meter out.

and we have literally done nothing attack wise

 

I think he's testing Giles on how he plays further forward for if we get another LB, he knows what he can do in the LB position.

I also think he's testing Jacob/showing the club why he wants a LB

 

We have, they just come to nothing because we don't have a huge striker and nearly every team now plays with at least one 6"4 centre half for that exact reason. We never seem to go for goals through the middle by playing the ball ahead of the striker, it's so much more difficult to score headers than it is kicking into the goal, it's just such a frustrating way of playing.
