Good for the ones that are minted. They’ve probably worked all their lives to put them in that position as well as continuing to support the less well off with their big taxes. I hope they enjoy their long and wealthy retirement. It’s well earned and they should be left alone.
Because for the past 4 years the Chancellory hasn't had a ****ing clue and has on one hand been cutting public services, stifling wages and raising taxes to pay for more and more shortfalls, all while introducing schemes that cost tons of money, are never going to be completed and target the wrong people. Saying out loud "giving old people money to pay for their heating" is very nice. But it only takes one person to stand up and say "but not all old people are poor" and then you think "oh yeh, no they're not. Why are we giving them that handout inall?" It get's me then thinking "okay, how many of these schemes sound nice, but target the completely wrong person?!"
Yeah I find it comical, Labour should have Billions to spend, now the Tories are not thieving it all...absolute billions. How about go after a few football clubs or players wages, not Everton though they are bust...Chelsea must still have some hidden Russian assets, send the tax gestapo round to go and pillage Stamford Bridge. Pensioners though...
they could probably raise about 10 billion pounds by just legalising, selling and taxing marijuana. but I reckon instead we should pillage the old, kill the young, and slaughter the homeless. build another prison too to house the unwashed masses
While I do genuinely take your point, pensioners though over all the other resources they could have shafted, they look the lower ends of the financial ladder. And while I agree with the junior doctor payrises, this is only going to go one way, every fooking tom, dick and harry is going to want a payrise now, that's how all this works.
I am glad that Labour are thinking outside the box and investigating these previously heralded schemes, which is really what they are schemes to win votes. Billions on failed migration plans, billions on never completed public projects, all while the military gets cut and the public service workers see what is essentially a fall in wages. I'm not a Labourite but, in my opinion, they're making the proper in roads. The issue with difficult financial decisions is the public get all emotional and angsty and you end up getting kicked out anyway. Then the previous goombas get reelected.
You wait until @duggie2000 turns up and sees this scorn on our pensioners, he'll fook you all up... please log in to view this image
Ironically going after us would be going after the pensioners. All true theoretically but isnt a lot of our outgoings because of the bad debt we are in and now we are paying out interest on our wonga rates.
I think Labour should go after ex-pats myself and people that move to Cornwall, must be something we can tax them for.
Pinkie told me the Tories were stealing it all and not spending our taxes on anything, I trust Pinkie. Anyway I think Reeves is setting up some Covid Corruption Body, billions coming their way, absolute billions.
Anyway this week the pensioners, next week Labour are kicking all the elderly out of all the NHS hospital beds, nice one lads, another great idea.
