If we don’t pay doctors a decent salary they’ll bugger off to Australia, or New Zealand where they do. Funny how whenever CEO’s salaries are questioned we are told it’s a global market. The NHS is in enough trouble, we can’t afford to lose anymore.

spot on -stop paying the incompetent chiefs who are creaming salary's that are way above their experience and skills.

Many have moved abroad for way better salaries and lifestyles.

But it’s like an apprenticeship, being a Junior Doctor isn’t it ?
Once qualified they can work anywhere in the world and do private work, so they will end up being very very well paid, and rightly so

I WOULD BET MOST OF THE WORKING POPULATION would love a doctors salary, besides his retirement and financial security he also [they mostly had weekends off ] usually Friday midday till Monday pm . they also said remuneration was good!

At this rate, the annual cost of public sector pensions will be £50bn by 2029
That’s unsustainable as well without tax going through the roof

Agree to differ, that’s not a lot for a doctor, compared to other professions, considering the job they do.

BUT most of the population are free to become doctors aren’t they?,

obviously we have to be competitive with what other countries pay their doctors, it’s a global market.

obviously the majority of doctors don’t think the remuneration is good, otherwise they would accepted the offer made by the last government.

Starmer will give ASLEF, their paymasters, more than Doctors.....after cutting fuel payments for pensioners.

Sounds like politics of envy to me. That said I think train drivers are paid too much, it’s the rest of the railway staff that deserve more.

I was about to say something similar.
It’s like those who moan about teachers having lots of holidays. Why don’t they become teachers if they think it’s that much of a cushy ride?
It’s because deep down they know it’s not.
