The Bucks Free Press understands Matt Phillips and Fred Onyedinma would be open to a return to Wycombe Wanderers this summer
Extract from Blackpool news "Former West Brom midfielder Matt Phillips has been linked with a move back to Wycombe by the Bucks Free Press." "Writer’s View This doesn’t feel like a move Wycombe will make. There’s a lot of romance around a former player returning, but it doesn’t always work out. At 33, Phillips would certainly be a risk in terms of fitness, and the question would be whether Wycombe would be willing to pay the expected wages, given the risks. There’s no doubt the player has had a stellar career, but as we saw in the Euros, football is increasingly turning to youth, not experience. A return would be headline-worthy, but in real terms, there’s surely no serious benefit on the field here that a younger, cheaper player couldn’t attain."
17 year old striker Jahieme Detsi has joined after impressing while on trial, another one for the development squad i imagine.
Looking at the team from last nights game is Sam Vokes on his way out. Bloomfield seems to have moved away from a big centre forward
Wycombe Wanderers are delighted to have secured the season-long loan signing of Cameron Humphreys from Ipswich Town. The midfielder, aged 20, has 39 senior appearances under his belt for the back-to-back promotion winners, having developed through Ipswich’s academy. He signed his first professional deal in June 2021 and made his senior debut at the start of that season, before going on to win the Tractor Boys’ Young Player of the Year award. Cameron will wear squad number 20 and is available to face Rotherham United at Adams Park this Saturday.
